If a company sends you a bill that you believe is not accurate (in your favor), should you contact the company to ask them about it? would you just pay the bill and feel like you lucked out? if it happens again, would you then contact them to see why you're getting undercharged? if you pay them for months at a time all getting undercharged, can they come back months downt he road and say "hey, we undercharged you for 5 months. you now owe this amount...". would they be able to do that, or would you be able to argue that you were simply paying what they were asking you to?

My thoughts are that everyone makes mistakes, even good companies. Sometimes in your favor, sometimes not. Most would say something if the mistake was not in their favor. If you receive services from a company, they have a right to payment. You can never go wrong by doing the right thing. Doing the right thing sometimes has it's rewards on down the road, and sometimes the reward is much greater than the mistake.

This happened with my electric bill one time. They severely undercharged me, and I was an idiot and just payed the bill! A couple of months later, they came back, said they had undercharged and would need to add the difference onto my future bills in installments. I of course, protested this, but to be quite honest, it was my fault for not being honest enough to catch the mistake.

1. When you buy metered products or services, like water or electricity, this can easily happen if they underestimate your usage and don't check the meter.
2. If you were set up wrong in their computer, this can happen. Maybe in this case they won't notice.

You really need to tell us what kind of product or service it is to give you a really helpful answer.
