I was offered a job at a company, but I decided to turn it down. Three days after receiving the written offer, I wrote them a nice letter telling them that I decided not to take the position at this time. I got a nearly immediate response from the recruiter that they couldn't understand why I was not taking the position and that they had been very accomidating and I had waisted their and the company's time and that I had acted in a completely unprofessional manner and they and the client company would make sure I was put on their 'Do Not Hire' lists. I feel that the recruiter was not completely honest with the company and I would like to respond, but I am not sure that any type of response is prudent at this time. Has anyone ever had such a response when they declined a job and if so, what did you do?

My name is Chelsea Ackerman and I am a representative of the Andrews High School Yearbook. I was wondering if you would like to take part in our yearbook by helping fund it through a business ad. Let me tell you, the best deal is $350 for a full page and we can custom design this. We really need your help, coming from a small community it is hard to find business that can help fund your school and its yearbook. My grade also depends on the business ads that I sale, so please email me back about other prices.
Sincerely
Chelsea Ackerman

My friend has a pilates studio and she usually works one-on-one with her clients. Last week she had a client bring her children. My friend doesn't have a place for children, nor does she want to, but what kind of sign could she put up that wouldn't get her in trouble for discrimination but politly telling her clients "no children please" wihtout losing clients.

I have a job interview at Dillards tomorrow at their shoe department. I've worked in the Belk (small clothes store in the south) for about 8 months, and have decided to go more upscale. The dress code at Belk was kinda laided back and casual. I know Dillards is more upscale. Anyway, ideas on what to wear and how to wear my make-up is much appreciated.

I'm getting ready to pay for something with a Bill-Me-Later account, but apparently you can't pay the bill with a credit card, so I was just wondering if there was any way to shift the balance somehow to my credit card. Thanks!

I left the apartment completely clean. Even got a crew to vaccum and wipe the place. Yet I got charged $100 for carpet, $150 for repaint tub, $150 replace faucet. Also one time I called the landlord to fix the sink that was clogged and not working properly...now he charges $45 for garbage disposal labor. Wht da hell!?! Out of 1700.00 he took out 781.00. Help?

I have been at my job for 9 yrs. Recently I got another offer at another company making 3000 dollars more per year. I would like to stay at my current company so I asked them to match this offer. They said they would not so I put in my 2 weeks notice. I honestly do not want to quit but I feel very unappreciated my a company I have worked so hard for to let me go over 3000 dollars/year. It's not even about money, I just want to feel wanted there. Am I being ridiculous?

I have been putting away 20% of my pay in my 401k and just received a bonus check that maxed out my 401k ($15,500) for the 2007 tax year. Does this mean that I have to change my contribution amount to 0% for the remainder of the year. Obviously if I do this I will not get the company match but I am worried that there a penalty for contributing beyond the max limit?
Thanks!

My wife and I bought our place almost a year ago, and our loan officer glorified ARMs and so on. We decided to go with it, but now our rates are climbing. We're still able to afford payments, but we could be paying LESS on a 30 year fixed mortgage, instead of this garbage negative amortization loan. What are the steps to do this? I don't want to just walk into Bank of America and say "I want to refinance with you guys" or hit up Lending Tree or whatever. I guess I'm wondering what good steps I can take to selecting a lender and getting into a loan that's better for us. Are there any recommended banks, companies, individual lenders, etc? Thanks!

A bank has approved our offer for a short sale of a home in pre-foreclosure. The current owner of the property has told us he will only move forward with settlement if he can have two months free rent back while he finds someplace to go. If it came down to it, and I accepted this offer, to what lengths could the current owner extend his stay beyond those two months--through filing bankruptcies, or other legal means that could prevent me from moving forward with an eviction? Clearly, I am not going to move forward unless I KNOW that I can control when he vacates the property. How long could he potentially "squat", once I settle on the house, before I could have him evicted? Again--for you legal experts out there--this is in the state of Virginia.

Thanks!

I recently paid off all of my credit cards. They all had pretty high balances so I'm expecting to see a generous rise of my credit score which will help tremendously since I'm going to be buying a new car soon. I paid the cards off about 5 weeks ago- all my credit card bills came in and showed a zero balance on the account but when i pulled a credit report it still shows all my debt. I want to get it off ASAP because as I stated I'm trying to buy a car- My question is does anyone know how long it takes the debt to come off my credit report and is there anyway to speed up the process?
Thanks so much!
