I have been looking for a new job for a few weeks nnow and have been to a couple of interviews using the doctors/dentist excuse. The trouble is, I have been asked to go for an interview for an amazing job. And the interview is this Thursday!

The interview is at 4pm in London, so I'd need to leave work around 2pm (work is fuirther from London than home). I work in a REALLY small company - there are only 4 of us, and one girl is on holiday for the next three weeks, so when I'm off, there's only two people left!

Last month I in hospoital and was off work for three weeks, so I really don't want to push my luck with calling in sick. I have asked if they'll meet me after work, but 4pm is the latest they can do.

Any suggestions gratefully received!

We live in Jacksonville, FL and are building a new house. Our loan officer said "That is for the short term rate not the 30 year but it should help down the road." regarding the rate cut by the Fed today. I feel like this is not right and this should lower my rate. Can someone tell me if I am being "taken" here?

I was just checking out someone else's question about "how to save money", and I noticed that one answer said that you shouldnt use a debit card when paying for things in a store. Why is that? I'm a little nervous, because I do it all the time!!

Suppose you were given $500 (friendly relative), you have three cards with debt. On two of them you owe $250 and the last you owe $3,000. Is it better to pay off two credit cards that are $250 each,or pay the minimum on those cards and the rest towards your $3000 debt?

I have always given my landlord a rent check a few days BEFORE rent is due - on the 1st - and it was ALWAYS deposited on the 1st or 2nd of the month. This time, the check was deposited 2 days BEFORE the 1st. The early deposit caused the check to bounce (my direct deposit happens on either the 31st or the 1st). I had to pay a NSF and a late rent fee... in addition, I had to resend a new rent check that hasn't been deposited yet (it's now the 18th).
I have NEVER been late or missed paying rent, but I was told because I don't post-date my checks, there was nothing I could do...is this true???

Where I work at an optometrist office, employee turnover is a lot 5 in a year on average. Everytime they hire someone its someone without experience that doesn't seem to have long gevity in mind. Now they hired one of those to cut glasses which is a fairly technical job and if its messed up customer service goes down fast. I am so tired of training new people without any exp. Also, I recently became certified as an optical assitant, (my job title is receptionist). I offered to do the assitant job when needed until the new person learns the lab fully then, pass on additional tasks to her as she is ready. Makes sense right? Good for the patients and us. Well my bosses looked at me like I was nuts and sort of blew me off. I am really frustrated at the whole situation. I have been here going on two years but it appears my suggestions aren't valued nor is my willingness to take on extra responsibility. Any suggestions?

How do I work out what equity is fair for him to have...ignore debt, 'who does what, who earns what, who paid what and assets at the moment as this was extremely equal.

Back in 2000 or 2001 I got a student credit account and due to financial hardship the account went to collection in 2003. From my understanding, this account is to be removed from my credit report after 7 years of it's first deliquent date not the date it was sent to collection. Now, in 2007 the collection company is contacting me and it is pass the California's Statue of Limitation and the 7 years mark. What should I do? What can the collection company do to me? Can this go back on my credit report even though it has been removed? Can someone please help I am confused about this whole credit report/credit collection/statue of limitation thing? Thanks. Your help and advise is greatly appreciated.
