I had identity theft with a hospital when I wasn't even 18 yet. How do I fix it it? Who do I contact to explain that if it were really me, my parents would have gotten the bill, not me I was a minor.

Medical identity theft is becoming more & more prevelant. You need to start documenting this now.

Start with the insurance company. They're much more likely to help you than the hospital as the hospital already has its money. They may have a fraud unit. (Sorry hospital folks, but this is my experience.)

Then, contact the medical facility where the medical procedures were done under your name. You may have to go in person with concrete proof of identity like birth certificate, social security card, driver's license and passport.
Request copies of all files under your name. Don't let them give you any garbage about it not being you - it is your name on the files.

If you received a bill from the hospital for services that you did not receive, then write back to the hospital and tell them. Try to keep all the paperwork in a file and save it in case there's trouble....
