I have been living in my apartment for 2 years now. i purchased it back in Sep 2005. Since living here no maitenance has been carried out by the landlord or anyone else for that matter. property is in Luton. UK. and i want to know do i have to still pay? has any one took on landlord and won? maintenace company are 85 miles away from my property and have done nothing regaring my questions.

Did you purchase the lease or the property? If you purchased the property then you carry out your own repairs. If the property is rented then the landlord has to make repairs. First send him a list of all the repairs that need doing. See what happens. If nothing, resend the list, tell him youll take further action. If nothing, go to your local CAB or shelter for how to take it further. You can get someone else to do it, but I cant remember exactly how to go about it.

do you pay a monthly/yearly maintance to this company
if so check what there responsabilitys are it should be in your lease agreement, if they are not doing the maintance set out in the lease agreement take a copy to your local citizens advise, they have a responsibility as landords and laws are there to protect tenants

you should start off by asking the landlord to do the repairs, then if he/she refuses you have a case to start causing trouble. they can't really be expected to sort it if they don't know there's a problem.
