I have a question about seasonal products.
Lets say halloween products, on halloween the price rises and the demand rises too. Is that a violation of the law of demand?
To me it looks like a violation, but then again the law of demand is not set in stone. There must be an exepcion to it.

I left my job of 12yrs and pursued a new opportunity. I started my new position in 06/07 - a major life decision for me. When I was hired, my manager had recruited me, told me the dept. was growing, and that the company had excellent opportunities for advancement and to build a career. At the time of the switch, I was also 6.5 months pregnant.

I took the position, started training, & began to perform my duties. Now, just 2.5 months later, they announced that they are reorganizing and that some will terminated and others will be re-assigned. I was reassigned.

The new position is going door-to-door selling products and is definitely a step down. I was in a 2nd level manager at my old job, 1st level at the new job - where I was an account executive for about 22 retail locations. I have been told that I can either take the position or that I am basically resigning. And to top it off, they told me this on my due date! No unemployment is available.

Is this fair? Can I take action?

What is the typical waiting period between an informal and formal job offer? Should I expect the contract via email or mail - maybe just an invitation to sign in person? Even though I've already informally accepted the job, should I call to clarify?

Thanks for any advice.

i have started a small business over the internet and i need to be able to offer paypal as a payment method to my clients.
Problem is: i am from Romania - paypal recently accepted Romania but only to send money, not to receive or withdraw.
Does anyone know how to work around this issue?
I think paypal is the only solution for my website, i'm selling a service so i need my customers to be able to pay fast and secure. My target market is mostly from the USA.

Simplest way would be to use the paid Yahoo Services as long as you're using the free product you don't have much choice....Someone made this comment. We are paying for Yahoo through AT&T and it costs money. So then how do I get rid of advertisements when paying for it? Thanks

I am due in February and thought that I would have to wait until I file my '08 tax return to claim my baby as a dependent, since it isn't due until after 01/01/08. However, I was told that as long as the baby is born in enough time to get a SSN for it before I file my '07 taxes in April of '08 I can claim it as a dependent. Is this true, or did I just confuse you all?

My sister is a senior in highschool this year. She obviously wants to do something with her life, but is dyslexic & somewhat illiterate. She has trouble even filling out job applications, and she isnt very savvy with communitcating word-wise (she knows what she wants to say, but it takes her a long time to say it)

What kind of jobs/careers/trades can i interest her in?
She needs something that not require:
-writing or reading alot (no office type work)
-speaking publicly or alot

Is there some kind of web site that i can go to where you take a survery and it would tell you what kind of career might be interesting depending on your anwsers?

THANKS

I am the Director of Human Resources at a company with about 140 employees. We are currently undergoing a lot of growth and I have set many new policies this year. In the past when the company was smaller and not corporate structured, salary employees were given extra compensation for working on a paid holiday (such as Labor Day).

The new policy that I have set forth does not give salaried employees additional compensation for working on a paid holiday (but does pay them if they do not work that day). Since this is a change for some seasoned employees, I am getting complaints and employees are salary employees are having a hard time understanding their exempt status.
