I have a dental bill that I've been fighting with the dentist and my benefits to cover. Neither one claims to cover the service or offer a resolution. Its now gone to collections and I've received a letter stating it will come out of my payroll check. Is this possible for a dental bill? I thought only federal loans, etc can be taken out of payroll checks, not medical/dental claims.

I am in AZ and I am trying to pay a collection agency $20.00 per month because that is what I can afford and they are telling me they can not work with me on that amount even though they took the original $20.00 I sent them. Are they allowed to do that? They are threatening me with legal action.

If a man owes 100k in taxes, but doesn't pay, he'll go to jail, right? For how long? Longer than someone that owes only 10k? When he gets out, does he still have to pay the 100k? What's the deal?

I am from India and working with Maryland State Highway Administration. My parents are old and reside in India. They dont have any source of income, so I have to send them money every month to support them financially. Do I have to get a Tax ID number for both of them to claim them as dependents? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have friends who received huge refunds because they get almost all of there taxes back at the end of the year. I have been living on my own basically since I was 18 and I'm 20 years old now, making almost $35,000 per year as a full-time student. Shouldn't I receive all of my taxes back? I only got about $400 last year after making $25,000.

Does anyone know of some online or from home jobs that are available? There's a lot of scams out there, so I dunno which is good or not. I'm getting married on October 26th, and currently don't have much of an income. My fiance makes about $500 per paycheck, every two weeks. I'm only making about $100 a week -- babysitting. A job that kinda got tossed on me. We can't live by that -- barely enough for groceries and gas. Not to mention that we have two large dogs (one is 67lbs and one is 90lbs) and a cat that we have to afford for. We also have rent, though only $50 a month, its 50 we don't have. I need the work asap and I don't have any education after highschool (no money, no school.) So if anyone knows of anything, PLEASE tell me. Preferrably not babysitting. Anything with animals is great, and i'm good on computers as well. Thanks!

I have already asked this question and the response showed that that person needs to reread the details. This lady who my boyfriend cut her lawn for, claims that she should have her lawn cut until mid october at $25/cut twice a month($50 for the whole month). However he charges everyone 130-140 a month, but this lady had at first gotten away with paying 90 and her yard isn't worth 90 its worth 130-140. She says she paid in may for june, but when she paid in june and paid 140 she memoed the check for june/july. my boyfriend never agreed to her 50 a month and has called him and left messages in august on why he hasn't cut her yard in august. she didn't pay august, but according to her the 140 should carry her to mid october. She even has chased him around the yard at one of her neighbors house asking why he hasn't cut her yard. she never pays on time and doesn't know how stupid she is for the memo on june/july check. he doesn't cut her yard and i think he should file harassment.

I know the housing market is bad. Houses in my area aren't selling. Prices are going lower. I've found my perfect home and I want to buy it. I think I should be able to just pay interest only on both homes for a while till the market gets better or if I'm lucky my old house sells. Any better way to do this? I want the new house sooner than later etc. I'll also have to pay pmi unless I can pull lots of money out of thin air.

We are three partners in a business with equal shares. I am a 33.3% partner in an S-Corp. I have taken a loan from one of my partners against my shares, if he the business do not repay his money in 3 year he will take all my shares.
Part of our business is that we gave personal guarantees on leases and contracts for 10 years. I want to sell my shares:
1. Is signing the stock certificate enuough?
2. By signing the stock certificate and giving the new owner a document showing me selling all my shares would I still be liable for the contracts? Do I need to notify the owners of the leases and contract or do I need to get a liability release from them?
3. How can I sell my share (actually give it for the money I owe him and not to wait 3 years) and at the same time getting rid of all the liabilities?
Thanks

I was sought out by this gentleman and he offered me a fantastic job where I can work from home doing advertising. (which is my background, marketing and sales).. He has asked me to ramp up a sales team and I will make a portion of their commission (perfectly normal)... Now all of a sudden his offer has changed pretty much, hes only offering me 10% commission (which I find insulting) and no travel expenses. This is a brand new, full color magazine and I understand they don't have much money, but I will be making it for them through national advertising campaigns. Anyway my question is how can I renegotiate my commission base without him just saying forget it. I really want this job, but there is NO way I can work for 10% and no salary. What would you do? Help...lol

I had a credit card that I paid on a monthly basis and on time every month. I became unemployed and continued to pay through the entire unemployment. I did not find a job and ran out of money and lost everything. I contacted the company to let them know where I was moving to and let them know I was sorry that I wasnt going to be able to pay anymore until I got a job. They would call every day for collection and I informed them everyday that I didnt find work. After a couple weeks of this I had some different deapartment calling that was a bit more rude but understandably so. A couple weeks later they started to call and yell at me and call me a loser and told me "Loser get a job and pay your bills".This was terrible. These calls continued for a month whether on the phone or on the answering machine.I then got a call from a lady who I told I had $10 to my name and she asked me to send her $5.She then said that I should give blood for money? Now they are suing me. What can I do?

is it more important to have a big down payment or to have no debt? my husband and i have only about 6500 in debt on a credit card of only 8.9% apr but we're debating on whether or not to pay off the credit card first and then save for a down payment or double our credit car payment and put the rest into savings for a down payment. which would be better?
