I was recently (two months) denied by citi credit card. I want some credit cards to pay my school. What is the best card to apply in this situation. BOA and capital one arent increasing my limit soon I guess although I always pay the full balance in time. So guys please suggest me some ways so that I can get a card with at least 2500 -3000 credit limit.
Which card to apply next and when?

Thank you in advance.

Over the past several months, YA has been a huge help to me in fixing major credit problems I have had. I have been working very hard at dealing with creditors on old in-collection debts. Now that I'm almost done with paying them off, I get a "Pre-Approved" credit card offer in the mail from First Premier Bank, which specializes in people with "less than perfect credit." Because I'm older, my fear has been that it will be incredibly hard for me to get credit again, so I'm curious if this would be good or bad for me to take advantage of. It definitely says that I am "Pre-Approved", so should I go ahead and get this card so I can use it to begin rebuilding my credit rating? I wouldn't bother with it at all, except for the words "Pre-Approved". NO, I do NOT want to go out and start charging - I just want to be able to have it to rebuild my credit rating. There are some fees tacked onto it, but I thought I would send this question out there to see what people's thoughts are. Thanks

I've heard of places doing this but yet I don't see how or why they would do this. Esp when some people only owe 5k-10k.
If this is true, I personally can't see selling a 100k house for 5k.

They send me a pre-approval. I go online and enter the code. They say "I'm sorry but we can't extend you credit at this time." Why are they sending me all these pre-approval things if I'm not approved?? Grrr!!

I sold an item on cragslist. It was paid in person with a cashiers check. A cashiers check is guaranteed funds. However, I deposited the check and it came back stop payment. I can't get a hold of the person I sold the item to. I can see I was scammed, but is there anything that I can do? Be it through the bank where the check was drawn on or elsewhere. Or am I SOL? Help!

What's the best way to deal with your first employee?

I have my first ever employee and she's done pretty well. I spend time training on her on things she's not familiar with and giving her pep talks, but really i just want her to take to the helm and do things. It's early still, but I am slightly frustrated at how long it takes her to do things that take me only a couple of minutes. I don't want to over work her but I need her performance to be improved. How do you deal with your employees or your first one? What was your experience?

I have been working now for over 20 years in a professional office job. I have worked in a variety of professional jobs in a number of different companies. Only one thing is true at all jobs: I have never had constantly enough work to keep me busy all day. I look for work, I make work, I beg for work and do everything I can to get and do more work. None of these efforts are good enough. I am just not challenged and am never busy enough. My bosses tell me they are impressed with all the things I get done. But I am still bored and not challenged enough.

So do you have enough work to keep you busy all day at the office?

Ok well I'm a sophomore in Boston, I am planning to become a lawyer in my future it has always interested me, So yeah can you specifically break down the schooling, the things that in high school I should major in. Average pay for a lawyer. I am 99% that a job in law (being a lawyer) will suite me so please don't bother leaving tips on pursing other jobs. Just really help me out in figuring out how to plan this out. I will leave Additional Details if I need to add anything so check back.
Thanks for your help

If I pay these off, and negotiate with these collectors to have them removed from my credit bureaus, is it likely that they will remove these collections? Mostly hospital and doctor bills.

I am 23 and currently attending college. I work at a job that is pretty much stress free (as a cashier at a drugstore). I am happy there. My aunt emailed me a flyer advertising a cashier position at a grocery store. The pay will be only about $1-$1.50 more per hour. The grocery store is in a terrible traffic area. The drugstore that I currently work at is a close stress-free drive from my home. I do not want to switch jobs because I am content. What do I do? How do I tell my aunt that I am not interested?, she is a bit overbearing.

Ok so I work at Wal-Mart. I hate the place, but hey its a paycheck. It a great place to shop, not so great place to work. I'm still on my 90 day probation, but sense yesterday I have been feeling under the weather. I went in yesterday even though I felt I crap, But today when I woke up my body felt really weak so I called out. So my mom told me it's not good to called out before your 90 days. I really am sick though, I have a really bad cold. I have been in bed all day. My body is weak. The only reason I got up was so I could eat. Then I had to get on the computer so that I could pay this man on EBay for my schoolbook. right now I'm going to drink some tea & lay back down. Anyway am I going to get in trouble at work? I already got a verbal warning from a manager who thinks I work to slow. Man I hate that place. I do my job & their still on my back!!!!! I'm really thinking about quiting anyway.

My husband and I have always just taken the standard deductions on our tax return. I'm wondering if it would be worth it to start itemizing. We have a house, so we could deduct our mortgage interest right? Only our interest only comes out to about $6500 for the year. We don't have any medical bills because he's in the Army so we're completely covered by Tricare. I'm going to school full time (junior in college) and getting my GI Bill but not working. I do have daycare expenses related to going to school full time. We also donate to chariies. At what point does it pay to start itemizing? BTW we always get all our taxes back plus some since we get the Earned Income Credit.
