Hi All,
Yesterday, I asked if hourly employees get paid for traveling outside the country, which you can find over here
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

I got some interesting responses. Now, here is my situation, I work from 7-3:30 Monday to Friday. Sometimes, if I work over time, I do get paid for it. For example, if I work from 3:30-4:30, I get one hour over time and so on. If I come on Saturday or Sunday, I also get paid for every hour I work, because I have to "punch in." Now, I'm gonna be going on a business trip to Europe on a Tuesday, will get there on Wednesday, will have meetings on Thursday and Friday and Saturday I will come back to the US. How am I gonna get paid since I get paid per hour? I asked HR and she was very surprised that I'm going to be traveling since I'm an hourly employee. She said, she is going to ask, so I'm still waiting. Is there is some kind of law in regards to this? Thanks

I recently took a sales position and was not told about the 45% tax on my commission. This puts me in a bind. My payroll department said I can go tax exempt for a few weeks and then change it back. Has anyone had any problems doing this? I figure I would just adjust it on my taxes at the end fo the year.

Here is the situation. My mom earns 10.56 an hour. She worked 40 hours at regular rate and 32 hours overtime. Total of 72 hours. Her employer calculated her overtime as 10.72x32. Instead of calculating 1.5 times her regular rate...they calculated 1.5 times minimum wage (7.15 here in NYS). Can they do that? Arent they supposed to calculate 10.56x1.5 as overtime?

I think the question is pretty straightforward. Would lying about age on an application work? This is assuming that the card would be used responsibly.

We are thinking about buying this beautiful Victorian home. We can pay for it outright but it needs some work. It has a new roof but needs a new paint job which is mucho work. The mechanicals are updated but the interior is ugly. Wallpaper needs to be torn off, carpet removed, floors refinished, ect.... The "bones" of the house seem in good shape. It just needs some good old fashioned elbow grease. The sellers are asking 135,000 for the house which I think is very reasonable, even with the work that needs to be done. I have always admired this home when I walked by it. What do you think?

My brother has declared bankruptcy for the fourth time in 7 years, from buying to many luxuries. I have asked him if he has placed any money aside for taxes due for the year and he says he will not owe one cent since he has declared bankruptcy. Is this true or is he in denial? I have told him to prepare for an IRS audit. Any answers on this one would be truly appreciated.

I live with my parents and they are starting to talk about rent and such. I am currently a freshman in college. We live in a small 3 bedroom, two bath mobile home. I have my own bed room just big enough for a bed, dresser, tv and a little walking space. It also has a desk built in, you know for school and such. We pay about $400 rent. They took every bill and split it into fourths. It came up to be about $560. They have cable and internet and their logic is that I should pay for what ever I use. I think that it all sounds a bit pricey considering I would still have to do some chores and follow some rules. Rules like no friends over at certain times and no boyfriend if they are not awake. I am kinda scared to live out on my own though... What do you think would be a resonable rent? I live in Indaina
