I think the question is pretty straightforward. Would lying about age on an application work? This is assuming that the card would be used responsibly.

slabberdaske...the sooner you begin to establish a credit history the better. When I was ready to by a home at age 25, I was turned down. Why? No credit history. If I knew better, I would have started at 15 and had a 10 year history already established!

You can get a card and have your parents co-sign, or else be added as an additional user to their card.

Don't lie on your application. That will bring nothing but trouble...it is actually a fraudulent act to give bogous information on a legally-binding document (and many cc agreements are just that).

If your parents have decent credit, ask to be signed on as an authorized user on their credit cards. You don't even have to use the cards in order for you to establish credit. You also might want to shope around for department stores that offer cards to minors with a parent's signature. I remember I opened a youth JC Penney card when I was 16 with my parent's permission. Just shop around....I'm sure you'll find something.

nope, your age will be verified. Sometimes minors are given cards because of some oversight or a fluke in the credit card company's system but its pretty rare considering the millions of cards that are issued each year, whats the chance of your app being one of the few that slips past verification.
just wait until youre 18. or have your parents add you as an authorized user on one of their credit cards.
