other factors:

Salary
Hours
commuting time
possibility of advancement
benefits
future of the company

Basically if the salary is high enough, you can save on your own and bypass the lack of a 401k

If you're looking for a long-term position, and this is not just a part-time quick money-maker, then a 401K is a sure sign of a stable position. Other things people consider are the salary, of course, the working conditions, hours, opportunities for advancement, and whether or not you can see yourself in the same job five years from now. Is it the kind of work you will enjoy doing? If you've been offered the job, and everything looks okay, I wouldn't waste too much time before replying. There are always other candidates, so you don't want to lose out. Good luck!

You can get an IRA. I am a contractor, so I don't have a 401k. An IRA is pretty much the same, although they won't match any contributions.

depends on why they do not have one. Are they a new company? that means you can make more money for the future profits. maybe they are just cheap, ask them
