I am interested in finding a legitimate retirement plan that is not connected to the stock market. I already have an IRA and I just wonder if there is anything else available to limit risk from the stocks. I am also aware of forex ira's and bonds but Im looking for something truly unique.

I am 18 years old and I just got a job that pays me aproximately $15,000 a year. My parents claimed me as a dependant on their taxes and I am a full time student so I understand that I can't claim myself. I want to know if I can still get any of my tax money back. My main question is about some business expenses, I got a phone line and a headset telephone that I use strictly for business and was hoping that I could write them off on my taxes but now Im not so sure if I can even file taxes. I'm new at this. Somebody please help me.

There's four of us, and we need to figure out how to get someone to do our taxes(and possibly books), and how much that costs. Can anyone shed some light on both issues? We're an LLC based in California.

Hello, I will be participating in a charitable walk this year and I would like to ask my neighborhood for help with donations. I want to put flyers in mailboxes that list the cause, the website, and that I would be grateful for any donations. I don't know what the rules are with the post office for soliciting. Can I put something like this in mailboxes or does it have to be rubber-banded around the outside? Thanks!

Everywhere I look I'm being charged just to get a list of these grants. I've call my state directory, and they can't give me any info either? Where should I go? No wonder there is so much money left over, its almost impossible finding these grants. I just dont want to pay for a list of outdated and expired grants over the internet.

I live in LA and rent is very expensive. How can I generate at least an additional $200-300 per month. My rent is $1000 for a 2 bedroom, and it makes no sense for me to get a single at $800 or a 1 bed at $900. Any suggestions? I have not found a roommate yet. Anyone know how or where I can get another job?

I'm just wondering - if I gave my social to some work from home company - what could they do just having that and my name? Are there very well set up scams out there just phishing for personal information? What does a person do if they make a mistake other than call the BBB? There's already a caution out on my social - so they probably can't do anything anyway right?

I have a job interview next week. Can you give me some good questions to ask? It's a job that I'm totally qualified for, but I worry that maybe I'll be even over-qualified (and bored?) I need some good questions to ask.

Is it inappropriate to ask how they do performance reviews? I found out the hard way that my review at my current job is NOT based on performance, you only get whatever percentage the company gives everyone. So basically the person next to me got the same raise that I did and she is never here (calls in sick, leaves early) and has been written up SEVERAL times.

Thanks for any ideas you can give me!

An employer has agreed to allow an employee to have a flex time schedule. The employee's salary and benefits are prorated -- for example, they work 4 days a week, so they are docked a day's pay for the day off and their vacation time is 8 days a year instead of 10 days). Should the employee also have their base pay reduced for the privilege of having a flex time schedule? Employer thinks if the normal pay scale for the employee is $40,000/yr, then the flex time employee should have a base salary of, say, $35,000/year for this privilege, plus get docked for the days off.

I just received my second pay check and my employer says I need to do my taxes myself. How do I go about doing this and is it legal that my employer isn't doing them himself? I never filled out a W form and I get no benefits, but for a college student the pay kicks butt. I'm not complaining, just asking if this is legal. And what are my chances of the IRS noticing if I don't figure out these tax details?

I want to start selling on ebay. I have a paypal account and I always buy things off of ebay using my paypal account. When I win an auction and pay for it through paypal, it is taken out of my checking account. Now I want to start selling things on ebay. When someone wins or buys an item from me and pays through paypal, will the money go into my checking account or will it go to my paypal account?

This "gentleman" is selling his book, AMERICA'S SECRET CASH GIVEAWAYS, for ONLY $19.95 plus $3.95 s&h. He is supposed to reveal ways to get money for any number of needs/ reasons. I really think it's probably a hoax and merely a way for HIM to get money for his own needs/ reasons. Does anyone out there know anything about this particular "offer?" Thanks a lot. vandottie
