Got check for $3900 saying we should use to pay taxes on $45K winnings we will receive. Have to call number to claim prize and will advise process. Sounds fishy. Appreciate info.

I am a property manager/landlord and I am trying to assist my friend who has unfounded charges from another landlord, but when I talk to this other landlord about them, he says I cant represent my friend because Im not a lawyer. I thought with it being outside of court, that wouldnt apply. Am I able to help my friend? Or does she have to see a lawyer?

last year I checked my name and found all of it under my name still. I am a student and I have no money to pay. Should I take a student loan to pay it? If I do would it help?
I made last payments since about 6 years and some of them even more than 7 yrs. some stopped contacting me and some still. Should I pay those who contact me? If I do pay it and they agree to remove it completely, are they forced to do so?

OPM obviously thought I was interested in fundamentals and just as obviously thought that by "beta charts" I meant charts of beta, rather than Yahoo!'s lame new beta format, which is grossly inferior to the classic format in terms of accuracy and completeness.

When I try to respond, I am chastized for trying to answer my own question. Is this lame or what?!?!?!

i have a few collection accounts from when i was younger and over the last 6 months i have paid most of them off but i have a question about 2 of them they both say this
This item is scheduled to continue on record until Nov 2007.
what does this mean i would assume after nov 07 they will be wiped clear?? or not show up on my report but still affect the score?
if i would pay these would that mean since there was activity on the past due account they will redo everything and change the status to paid in full will be on record for 7 more yrs? and affect me longer than if i didnt pay it?

He sent me an email notifying that I was chosen as one of the 50 recipients worldwide of a cash grant from LG Electronics in conjunction with the EU & the United Nations Organization (UNO). He instructed me to contact a bank or a security firm in the Netherlands, Falcon BV with address at Hostile 170, 1091AC Amsterdam and some guy named Mr. Anthony Rudolf with telephone no. +31-633-733-318 & fax no. +31-847 273 800. I have talked with this guy in the phone and assured me its legitimate and the money is kept in the bank under some kind of an escrow/suspense account and can't be transferred unless the recepient of this cash grant open an initial deposit of 1,500 euros as a personal account and then only the cash amount can be transferred to the personal account. Latest of his email instructed me to make a payment of 1,500 euros to any Western Union money transfer agent to activate my personal account and payable to Williams Tate of Falcon Bldg., Amsterdam, The Netherlands 1045.

I have 10 revolving & 3 installment accounts listed, 0 mortgage & 0 other {no student loans, no car loans, etc}. All 13 of my accounts are in good standing. Only 4 of the accounts are open accts & 9 are closed… with 0 currently past due & 0 negative account history. I’ve had 5 inquiries in the last 12 months. I have 4 credit cards – 2 Visa’s, 1 Mastercard, 1 dept store...totaling to $6590 in avail credit. Im never above $3400 used (abt 50%)
I was recently sent an approval for an AMEX green charge card. I have heard they are hard to get, & was considering getting it (only bc I thought it might ‘look’ good)... Wouldn’t charge much tho since it must be paid in full.
My question: I’ve never had any long term debt (ie student loan, car loan, mortgage)… should I co-sign on my fiancé’s car loan that he just opened? Will that raise my credit score since its long term debt (& YES it will always be paid on time)? Plz help! Score is 720 now, want 770 in 1yr! Will the AMEX 'look' good?
