my score dropped down by 100 points. I never missed any other card payment. I immediately payed off that card completely.how many days should I wait before my score returns to what it was before? WHat should I do now?

Your score won't improve for a while because it's going to report as recent negative history. Call the credit card company. If you have a well established account, and have never missed a payment before, some banks will give you a break the first time, but never again. Ask if they could waive the fee and not report it to your file. It's worth a shot, the worst they can say is no.

I agree with Robin, ask the company for goodwill in removing the late notation.
Lates are a major score killer and will remain on reports for 7 years from the date of the late.

it will take a lot longer than just a few days for it to return to what it was. it may take years. the only thing you can do is continue to pay on time.
