Our mortgage lender has filed for bankruptcy protection. We assume that our mortgage in the bankruptcy proceeding will be sold to another lender at a greatly reduced price. Example: We owe $200,000 on our mortgage with the bankrupt lender. Another lender might buy it for $100,000. Is it possible to "buy" our own loan, from our current lender, while they are in bankruptcy, at a greatly reduced price, just like another lender will eventually do ?? We feel that we need to ask this question if it is possible because if another lender can buy it at a greatly reduced price, why not us, the mortgagee ??
Thank you for all answers to this question

Question Details: This summer I am an intern at this place and it turns out that I'm not qualified to do a lot of the things that they gave me. My confidence went down the drain. I made mistakes here and there. My boss and the rest of them think I am an complete idiot. My boss seemed very nice sometimes and other times, he ignored me, and couldn't stand me. I felt unintelligent. I know I am not. They are very knowledgeable and quick learners. Not me. I just need the right words to tell them how I feel. I just couldn't relate to them because our weaknesses and strengths are different. Is it bad if i end up crying? I usually do. Emotions too intense. I felt like I didn't fit in with them. There were times when I wanted to open up, but I couldn't. Something restricted me. THIS IS MY LAST CHANCE TO TALK TO HIM. I think he is the type of guy who doesn't give a **** about my feelings. But I AM NOT SURE. Is it worth it. I am tired of feeling like an outsider ALL OF MY LIFE. I don't want to e

My payment is due on Monday 8/20 and I payed Friday 8/17 in the early morning over the phone by check. If on my account online it hasn't showed that I've payed yet and by Monday it still doesn't show. Do I get charged a late fee? Or do I always have to make sure that I give enough time in advance for the check to clear?

I have had a capital one card for years now, it only has a $500 limit w/ a high intrest rate and I have NEVER been late on it. After significantly improving my credit (years of work) I applied for the next step up capital one card that has a 12% intrest rate and I was denied! 1 week later Citi bank sent me an offer of 12% with 0% on balance transfers for 1 year and I was approved in seconds for a MUCH higher limit than my capital one card. I am so offended by capital one, I transfered my $500 card and plan on canceling it. Why did this happen?

I refinanced 2 weeks before American Home Mortgage declared bankruptcy. They still owe me my escrow money (a new escrow account was created at closing with the new company). Is the escrow money legally mine and protected from the company's bankruptcy, or can the company default on paying it back? Thanks!

I was told yesterday that I won a lottery from across the world in the amount of $500,000. I was told to give my name, address, etc. and these people would transfer the money from a Union Bank to my bank. I wasnt thinking I was just too excited and I gave these people my bank account info. and my telephone number. Then they told me by email and they called my home telling me if I could go to Nigeria to claim my award with documents, I would be able to get my cash award. I told them no because I dont stay in Nigeria and I never been there and I wouldnt know where I was to go if I did.

Now im thinking to myself did I just make the biggest mistake of my life or am I really that 1 in a 1,000,000 lucky winners. If anyone been in this same situation or if u know if this is real or not - please let me know!

Here in Ma, insurance companies run credit checks on people before they give you insurance. I have horrible credit so I get screwed and have to pay about $1000 more for insurance than I usuall would. It shouldn't matter about my credit because the insurance is part of the escrow so the nortgage company pays it. In fact I had paid for a year up front last year. The insurance company cashed my check it cleared then they ran their credit check and said they wouldnt insure me. I am just getting tired of getting screwed by the MAN. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Here is a question that I have perhaps someone here can shed some light.

The example will deal with PUTS- I have a contract that expires today.. It is a 20 PUT.. The stock is trading at 22 dollars.

I can not sell the put- I suppose that is because it is out of the money and there is no time left. NOte- this does give me the right to sell 100 shares of X at the strike?

Now, what happens if the 20 dollar put is in this scenario- same thing, expiration today. Stock now trading at 18... Would I be able to sell the put?? even with so little time?? Why would anyone buy it?How does the PUT buyer, the person who will buy my PUT benefit from this?? So this would be like me saying I will sell 100 shares of X at 20, 2 dollars above the strike?

ALso important part of my question.. with above example--- if there is a buyer for my put, would that be the same as I was when I originally bought the put? In other words the new buyer would be "a put buyer" with the right to sell at 20 strke?
