You need to visit your local employment office. When you are fired they penalize you the first six weeks,It also depends on what you were fired for.if you were fire for not performing you job expectation missing without good reason coming in late no you wont get unemployment benefits. O n the other hand if you were fired because you were rejecting sexual advances then yes you are entitled. If you were cursed out or called names because you made a simple mistake then you would be entitled.

The way it works in California is that you file a claim for unemployment, the unemployment office contacts the employer informing the employer of what they have to contribute to your unemployment pay. Your employer can contest your claim by saying you were fired for cause (like stealing the inventory or being drunk on the job or diddling the front desk girl). The unemployment office then evaluates whether your claim is payable or not. If they just fired you, "at will", no particular reason or maybe they just didn't need you anymore, then you get unemployment. It actually works in your favor. You would have had to do something really bad for them to deny you your unemployment benefits. Tardiness or poor attendance doesn't qualify for something "really bad," you would collect unemployment under those circumstances. So the answer is, if you didn't violate any laws or anything of that nature, you should be able to collect unemployment insurance.

Whether or not it is your first time is immaterial as it relates to unemployment insurance, or UI. Your claim can be denied, especially if you were terminated for misconduct or breach of policy.
If you left a job of your own accord, your claim may also be denied. If your employment was terminated through no fault of your own (you were laid off, the company moved out of state, you became disabled), you should be eligible to claim UI.
If your claim is denied, you can appeal this decision and appear before an administrative law judge; a representative from the company will also be present to give their side of the story. Note that if your claim is approved, the company also has the right to appeal for that decision to be reversed - same process, all parties meet before a judge. The judge's ruling is final - there is no infinite appeals chain with UI claims.

I can tell you that you CAN receive unemployment,but you have to be fired and you would of have to work at that job for at least 6 months.You also have to make a certain amount of money too(ex. over $2,000) and it would of had to happen within 2 calendar quarters. Also, you will only receive 26 checks at the most andyou will have to wake up at 6am once a week before the lines start to get busy. Im only telling you all this cause its not worth getting fired from a job - do it and do it well!!!

Workers compensation insurance is paid in full by employers. You have to go to your local security employment office to apply. You are not automatically awarded the benefit. There is a fact-finding where both sides state what happened. That information is forwarded to an impartial, third party to make a decision. You may receive immediately thereafter; be penalized for a number of weeks; or denied. (I am answering from experience with the South Carolina Employment Security Commission.

you can call your local unemployment office and ask them !! they will tell you what to do but, i know from here in(tenn.) you can not draw benifits if you get fired , if the company saids your at fault as to why you got fired then you will draw nothing !! And i'm sure that they see to it that it's your fault and not there's , so you can't draw anything from them !! you know what i mean?? If you were let go because they didn't need you anymore and wasn't fired it would be different !!

It depends on how long you were employed, you reason for being fired, and you always file a claim and fight it but illinois....I don't know about that state because I'm way in Callli!
That why it's good to check in to all this info. etc at the time when your first being hired!

You go file a claim. If the company fights it and claims they had a valid reason for firing you, you may have to go through an appeal process to see if you will get the benefits or not.
