No you send them out to be cleaned and then wait for them to come back, put them on the shelf and tell everyone you did it. Of course that could be costly... so just break them as your putting them into the trash and take out the trash.

When I was in the biz, most of the washing was done in dishwashing machines. The industrial ones only take a couple of minutes and have a rack you load, then slide in, wash, then slide out and unload. Because the racks are separate from the machine, you can always keep dishes washing by sliding out one rack and sliding in another. Very quick and relatively easy. Some things needed more intense washing, but the bulk of trays, dishes, utensils, glasses, etc. were done by the machine.

when i worked as a dishwasher it depended on what you washed and i am sure thier are different policies for each chian of resterants or each mom and pop one,i go with the one the manger answers your question without any trepidation or saying i dont know or ummm yeah ,,trust your insticts ,also if you ever get a dirty dish alert the resterant manger at once that perosn needs to be reprimanded and if it happens more than once then he or she would probably be fired or made to due other things other than dishwashing,i mena to find a piece of brocholi goo stuck to your plate when you could have an alergy to a spice or the vegatbale or meat is serious buiseness, you have to be an aware comsummer or learn how to cook.lol take care

Depends on the equipment where you are working.
Some places do everything by hand some do everything by machine. Most hotels have giant machines that are capable of washing dishes and pots for thousands, while Mom and Pops will usually have a sink and a kid up to his elbows in suds.

Yes, but I mostly used the dishwasher. (Check under the plates though before putting them in. Sometimes there is money stuck to them).
