It's illegal to put anything except for posted mail in a mailbox. It's a felony offense, because the postal service falls under federal jurisdiction .

If they are your neighbors you would do much better to personally ask them for donations...
It is illegal to put anything in mailboxes. You could rubberband them or clip them. That is the only choice you have where the mailbox is involved. Good Luck on the walk, you are doing a wonderful thing..So yea go to your neighbors and put on the puppy eyes and smile and charm them into donating....you can do it!

Yes it is illegal. Most communities have an anti-litter law that prohibits this practice. Flyers may be handed out directly to a person or put on display. This provides people the opportunity to accept or decline.

No, It against the law to put flyers in the mailbox..... called a Federal Offence. Try hanging them on the doors.... string them and perhaps hang them from the door knob. Good Luck
