My air conditioner stopped working a couple days ago. I called my landlord, but he has not returned my calls. It was 96 degrees in my house when I left for work this morning at 5 AM. I cant sleep and I spent most of last night chilling in a cool bath. If I call for a/c service, can I be reimbursed? Can I deduct it from the rent? What does the law say?

I know this question is probably asked frequently, but here it is again.

Mine is the person who takes 2 hour lunches all the time and takes about 100 personal phone calls throughout the day. And they hired her to keep track of everyone else's time off, among other things.

My husband just got a promotion and we now have about $2000 a month to put torwards paying off bills. We have $7000 in credit cards, $6000 on our car, and $16000 on our van. So what is the best way to pay off the bills the fastest but keep our good credit? I was thinking: make two car payments every month torwards each vehicle. and the rest divided among our five credit cards. Then when we have cards paid off put the money every month torwards the car. Pay that off and then work on van??? So what do you think? We are VERY dedicated to paying off the bills. We were young and got credit cards. We will never pick up credit card again. So any advice would help. We want everything paid off before going to buy a house. Thanks for any help!!!

He has given me an opertunity to do a course that he will pay for on condition im contracted for another 2yrs. If I do this I can't go to the States in December cause i've just come back from leave. On the other hand my boyfriend is moving to the UK on the 5th Jan 2008.He wants me to go with. If I go with him, I can go to the states and pay for my course after working my *** off. I'm scared I make the wrong choice. Please help me come to a conclusion as I have looked at all the pros and cons. What would you choose to do

We are coming out of a deed in lieu of foreclosure and cannot get a home loan right now. Family members have offered to buy us a home then we assume the loan or buy from them later when our credit score gets better. The equity will be ours. I am not so sure this is a better idea than leasing to buy a home on our own. It sounds easier than it might really be. What would some potential pros & cons be?This will be done in FL.

i live in texas and the taxes on this land have not been paid for over 7 yrs but the tax office says it has to get to a certain $ before they auction it off. well someone told us that we could pay the owed taxes and keep paying them for five yrs and take pictures of the land before and after we cleaned it up then put a fence around it saying no trespassing and leave it like this for 5 yrs while we continue to pay the taxes and then go to a land attorney or whatever they are called and file something and the land will become ours if the owner still never shows up is this true has anyone of yall ever done this??

My boss touched me on my buttocks twice within a 3-4 week timeframe. I didnt report him bcz I was afraid of what would happen to my position and I also didnt want to go through the drama and hassles involved in situations like this, I also did not want to get HIM into trouble and cause him to lose his job. However, after the 2nd time he touched me, I confronted him and he apologized but I felt uncomfortable being around him after that and I reported him. I've since been taken off of my job working for him and I am working elsewhere within the firm, they are handling him (I dont know what's going on yet but he's received calls and things ARE going on right now as I type this question). What I want to know is, do I have a sexual harassment case regardless of whether the firm is doing their part or do I have to wait to see whether he's fired or resigns, what are my options, what happens in cases like this and what options do I have? Do I do a lawsuit anyway?
