I was thinking of starting an Ebay store up, I was wondering if anyone has started one and is it hard to get going?
Where would I buy stock from? How would I promote it?

Thanks. :)

If you tell your employer you are looking for a new job but you don't want to quit until you find one and if your employer hires someone to take your place before you DO find one, would you have "quit" or been "fired"?

My company is offering it's employees stock options that we have to option to exercise in a few months. My co-workers were saying that the value of the stock will drop when we can exercise the options because of a lot of people selling the options and getting the cash. I think that the stock will go up because since we dont actually have the stock yet, nothing will be lost when the options are sold...plus some people will choose the option to buy the stock. Who's right???

...for just about anything. I'm not talking just about birthdays and leavings etc, it seems to me at my place that if you walked out of the toilets, arms outstretched in the air, declaring you'd just done a 'mighty panblocker', a collection would instantly whisk its way around the office along with a fitting 2ft card to go with it to be signed by people that you never knew worked there let alone spoke to!
I'm not a meany but working in a fairly large office it seems to me there's one every day. How about you? What do you think?

The last place I rented was HELL.They sold the places to a developer to "remodel" as condos to be SOLD not rented. We went thru a construction nightmare, the office staff were idiots and tried to pretend like we all didn't exist.THANK THE LORD, we were released from our lease due to LEGAL means(we supplied the landlord with adequate proof of why we should be released from lease WITHOUT PENALTY(in certified, return receipt requested letter)and received written permission to do so from landlord. So, I should be thanking my lucky stars,but- we again had to come up with deposits, moving costs, etc-after only living there for 6 months!! The problem is this-now, its been 30+days since we've moved out, and haven't received our deposit back in the mail yet.The office lady says they have no proof we actually paid it!I can easily receive copies of the checks from my bank and prove that we did.So do I have a case to take them to court and win more due to their bad faith or should I just give up?

is more than my bens, i can still sign on but i won't get any jobseekers allowance. i am on 5.40 an hour and i roughly do 15 hours a week, the job goes to one day a week next week and i said that cos of this if i am not receiving my bens as well i'll have to give the job up, i can't afford to live off a low income. my parents charge me £70 a month for rent. i have been told by my boss that £5.40 an hour on 15 hours a week is £21.75 plus bonus, the jobcentre recons that i earnt £81 for the first two weeks and their taking £5 of this and then they said their going to take me pound for pound, i am not sure what that means. i have to go and ask for my payslip now as well, cos that has the hours i've done and the amount i've earnt on it. they didn't seem to grasp that i am going to be earning about £21.75 a week plus bonus next week, bonus on top will take my weekely wage upto about £26 - £40 a week on one day a week. see what i mean my bens are more than my wage or else they will be soon.

I am a healthy 20 year old male... I have a wife, who is also healthy, that really thinks we should get health insurance... My work offers a decent plan for $300 a month... I think this money could be put to better use... a savings account or something. The problem is of course, emergencies. I've seen plans that cover emergencies but only like 80% and they have a high deductible/monthly payment. Any suggestions/ideas??

I just graduated with a BComm Degree from University of Toronto. I don't have any experience expect a few months as a telemarketer at BMO and sales associate at walmart. I may be offered a job as a teller at BMO... is this a good way to get my foot in the door of the financial industry? I am going for my CFA level 1 exam in dec. Any advice would help. And salary is not much of an issue to me right now.

The seller listed a house for $199,000. He bought i two years ago for $97,000. He did substantial remodel. I would estimate that he put in $30-45K of materials and labor over the past two years. New kitchen, appliances, fixtures, bathroom, paint, crown molding, electric fence, landscaping carpet, laminate flooring, etc.

Zillow estimates the house at $154, but didn't take into account the additional living space and remodel. Neighbor sold two months ago for $174,000.

Do you think it is insulting to offer $184,000?

My fiancee and I booked the location to our wedding months in advance. We have a quote, in writing for the price of food, drinks, dancefloor, etc. The person in charge left the job and now a new, less pleasant person is our contact for the location. She claims the price of drinks and food have gone up since we booked the event, and we have to pay the higher price to have our wedding THIS SATURDAY.
What are our options, if any?

I got two phones from Cingular years ago to allow my brother in law to use one. He later ran up the bill and fled the country. I had made him an authorized user on the account which allowed him to view the phone bill only, which was back in 2001. However, last year August 2006, he went to Cingular and opened a completely new account under a new contract in my name and without my knowledge. I did not find out until he took off and I tried to close the account. When I called customer service they tried to accuse me of opening the account, but when the rep looked at the DL# that opened the account, she realized that it wasn’t me. However, the Cingular fraud department refuses to investigate or accept that it is fraud because I know the person and the phone which I did set-up (the phone I gave him to use) showed that it called both phone that he had set-up, so they automatically believe that it was me. I am now stuck paying $1100 in charges to try to clear it off my credit report

I have heard the advice that you should never, EVER say anything negative about your current employer while on a job interview. Is this really true?

I am interviewing after only 8 months at my current job. However, the job is awful, my boss is shady and there are some unethical (and even illegal) things going on. Obviously I would never say all THAT...but I was thinking of something along the lines of "I am uncomfortable with some of the questionable practices I have witnessed in my short time with XYZ company, and I am looking for a new position where my strong work ethic and integrity can be upheld."

In addition, before I was hired I was led to believe that the job was something very different from what it really is. Is that a reasonable explanation for leaving after 8 months?

If these kinds of answers are unacceptable, how do I explain my new job search? I don't want potential employers to think I can't commit or settle down, which is exactly what I am hoping to do!

I have been in the small offset field for over 25 years. I have seen many changes over the last 5-10 years with the advent of digital technology. Now there are fewer jobs for press operators and many shops are even choosing to reduce equipment and staff and farm out much of their work.

Is there a future in this business for a top-knotch press operator, or should I consider changing over the next few years? Or, is there a change I can make within the field? Is it possible that my career may continue for the next 20 years? My experience ranges from running little old AB Dick duplicators to a Ryobi 3304 (small 4 color press).

What would you say is the future for the small commercial printing business?
