I have 600 bucks that was turned into a collection agency from Capital One. I am unemployed and cannot pay a penny right now. What are the chances they are going to get a judgement against me for this small amount of money. (by the way I do plan on paying this money, I just cannot right now)

They have a limited period of years to file a suit against you called the Statute of Limitations. For credit card debt that is anywhere from 2-6 years from the date of the last delinquency. The amount of time depends on the state you live in. So if you are currently unemployed, if they have the time they will just wait until the SOL is about to expire to file the suit, where you might have more of an ability to pay.

Now will they file suit for just $600..Yes. When they file suit they also can claim the court costs and any additional interest. This could easily add several hundred dollars to the debt. If it goes a couple of years you could have the amount double or tripple.

Sorry there are smart As@es here and cant seem to understand sometimes the rug gets pulled out form under us.
Yes they can file a judgment against you for $ 600.00 I had one for $ 714.59. Which went to $1900 hundred after all the fees they tacked on.I would call Capitol One and tell them your story and let them know you have every intention on paying them back PLEASE write down everything you say to them and who you speak to time and dates and what is said to you as well. Also I would write a letter to Capitol One as well and sent it Return Receipt requested paper trails are always nice in case it ever goes befor a judge .

By the way I counter sued the collection agencie they dropped my suite.I paid them back $600.00 in payments and with written proof of deletion off my credit file.

Send them a check for $1 a week until you get back on your feet.

Yeah, they can. You do need to give them a call. Let them know about your difficulties and also write a letter.

You should be fine as long *** you call and write to them!
