We have the experience, patience and very reliable. We have to be we are responsible for alot. We understand shuffling time to fit everything in, thats what makes us that much better than employing someone just out of school. Secondly we have loads of experience. Myself I am 39, I have experience squeezing out of every cell.
Us mothers going back to work, have computers and can take unfinished work home with us to finish when we put the kids in bed.
If I was an employer, I would hire me. Do younger people ask that to themselves honestly?

Although I am paying income tax on my pensions, would it not be loyal of me to put myself down before I start to cost the N.H.S. money? At present I work out three times a week at the gym to try and keep fit. However, I feel guilty at taking a state pension which the Government could put towards the olympic games.

I was advised by many people that when I move or change my phone #, do NOT tell the collection agencies-in order to prevent them from harrassing me. Yes I'm in debt & don't have the money to pay them off since I'm on fixed income.

I just moved & I have a different phone # now. I just had this scary thought that if they're trying to sue me, I wouldn't even know that they are. & what if I get a letter forwarded to my new address after the court date, without knowing I had one? Could that lead to me having a warrant out for my arrest & possibly going to jail? Also, is it a bad idea to not let collection agencies know where I moved? Because when I moved last time & they started harrassing me, my brother got mad @ me when I was living with him, & they started threatening him about me. So I feel so mixed up, confused, & worried. I want to pay my debts, but I'm disabled & don't have enough $$ to go bankrupt & don't wanna go bankrupt. Can you tell me what I should do? Please-no rudeness.

If you have credit cards you owe, can they take money from your salary before you even say how much or if yes? Do you have any say at all? Does your job say yes or no?

I've tried the usual corporate websites going directly through HR. I have almost 15 years experience on the retail side of auto sales - I even had a regional sales manager for Nissan submit my resume to Nissan with a reference and didn't even get a call! Is there someone who works for a manufacturer that could share their secret to getting a job?

Okay, so I'm moving into Kenmore, NY (it's around Buffalo, NY). My rent would be $590 a month. No utilities included. I believe it's a duplex, two bedroom. Right now it's just me and my dog. I'm pretty good at keeping things turned off (especially if I'm footing the bill). Water ... I like taking showers, I'll admit it. I can scrimp on washing though and combine loads. I don't know if it's a gas range or electric or any of that. I also don't plan on being home SUPER much. If you know what I mean. I go to school and plan on working when I'm not there.

So ... if anyone has any idea of what that might cost me per month I'd be grateful. An overestimate would be better than an underestimate. Thanks.

Should I not worry about it or what? What would you do?

The average person at my place of employment stays employed for less than a year. At the end of each year there are more terminations than average employee positions. (eg. 60 people quit in a year and there are only 50 employee positions in the department). So people are constantly being re-hired to replace the losses. In one year a position might be replaced 2 or 3 times. Upper management is continually expressing their concerns about the organizations working conditions and these concerns are shared with line staff who also agree sometimes even more so. The one or two at the very top attempt to stiffle dissent.

So I'm wondering is this just something common in the workplace or should I quit like many others I've worked with have done and try to find something better?

1) What happens if you contribute more than 15k into a 401k limit (I am under the age of 50) ?
2) Does the company-HR automatically stop you from contributing or is the money taxed and then put into your 401k ?

I am rapidly approaching the 15k limit and I forgot to change my elections prior to 6/30 (our company allows changes only once a quarter). I sock away about $2500 a month into my 401k. (I started saving late)...

Further : If the answer to the question is yes to 1)...

3) What happens as it sits in the 401(k) ? How does IRS differentiate between taxfree 401k investment vs taxed 401k investment ? How do I keep track of it ?
