...for just about anything. I'm not talking just about birthdays and leavings etc, it seems to me at my place that if you walked out of the toilets, arms outstretched in the air, declaring you'd just done a 'mighty panblocker', a collection would instantly whisk its way around the office along with a fitting 2ft card to go with it to be signed by people that you never knew worked there let alone spoke to!
I'm not a meany but working in a fairly large office it seems to me there's one every day. How about you? What do you think?

Start your own random collections. ( and do it on a daily basis ), Pocket the takings.
Then it's off down to the pub to get s**t-faced at their expence !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes! Who are most of these people we've given money to? I stopped 'donating' and started giving excuses like I don't have money on me or it's my lunch money. One woman who was leaving after 10 years had a cheek to ask someone in the day shift to actually do a collection for her while she went around doing her own collection in night shift!!

They make you feel selfish and guilty if you don't give!

I think whoever is doing the collection esp if it's a surprise should at least know who the person speaks to and who their friends are before they go around asking for our hard earned cash!

no problem just ignore the collection unless it is actually a close friend or colleague, cos if you give to every collection it will cost a fortune and the recipient wont appreciate the gift cos they don't actually know who you are, and if they don't know who you are so what sod em
