anyone know how to do the following problem?

Assume you purchased a rental property for $50,000 and sold one year later for $55,000 (there was no mortgage on the property). At the time of the sale, you paid $2,000 in commissions and $600 in taxes. If you received $6,000 in rental income (all of it received at the end of the year), what annual rate of return did you earn?

Answer is 16.8%

but how can I get out of paying my car payment for instance without having a bad mark on my credit? I may eventually have unemployment come in but that money will go towards more important things like gas, food and other bills.

I went on an interview already for one job. The hiring manager called me back and said she would call me back on Friday to talk about when I can come on board. That basically sounds like to me that I have the job. But I could be wrong. I have an interview for another job on Thursday. I'd much rather have this job. If I get a position they'll pay 100% of college tuition. School is very important to me so this is a big deal. I won't have to come out of pocket for anything! But I don't know what to do! The 1st job's pay is good. I like that position as well, but I'd rather work the other job. I have no time to be picky though because I need a job. So what should I do? Should I tell the interviewer on Thursday the situation? Should I ask what my chances are of getting the position? But what if I do get the 1st interview job and then the 2nd as well? How would I go about leaving the 1st?!? So confused....

I hate my job!! I dread going to work every day, mostly because of how much time I spend driving to and from. It eats up so much of my day and gets me so stressed out (I hate driving more than anyone I know) that I am exhausted and irritable wneh I get home which is affecting my family and I dont like that either. Unfortunately without a college degree most employers wont even look at your resume. I cant afford to find a job that I like because they either require a degree or they dont pay what I am making now and I cant take a pay cut. I cant continue like this as I feel that I will go crazy. What are my options?

I just thought I could sue because he signed my name saying it was from me and was not!!! He tried to say my money was part of the money that was taken when my manager of the building was robbed which my money wasnt in there because I didnt pay rent till the 5th of the month and she was robbed on the 2nd and people im not just trying to get money but it was wrong so stop jumping on me!!!

i live in southern california and my home value is 600,000. I pay 2,200 for insurance every 6 months. i think this is a little too high but would like to know if this is average. When i bought the house i was too excited that i didnt even talked to my insurance agent, who is located in Fresno, Ca. I do live near a school could that also be the reason why my home insurance is so high? Could the location make any different? Can i also change insurance or will there be a penalty? I have no clue? My insurance is through Farmer.

I just graduated College and I am trying to get sales position, because I was to be a financial advisor. But it seems like every where I apply I don't hear from them. And never get any calls from interviews. I love working with ppl. ppl trust me and so forth. Ugh.
Any ideas for my next interview if I so happen to get one? I am expecting a call this week from a bank.

i got a job at the weathervane and i have been washing dishes for roughly a month. everyone told me i will wash dishes for a couple months then move to cook. however last night the assistant manager taught me how to cook at a certain station and later that night he told me that i will train there for the next 2 weeks and then work at that station full time. i think the guy who is there now is going to get fired. however i am going to be out of town for the next 2.5 weeks and the manager knows this but the asst. manager i believe is unaware. so if they are planning on fire the cook now and giving me the job will i lose this oppurtunity to be a cook. will they give it to somebody else instead of waiting. wut do you think??

We have credit card debt of $72k. (cancer treatment costs) We have excellent credit and own two homes, but are cash poor and have the high credit card debt that we want to pay off

WE WANT TO PAY OFF THE $72K AND HAVE A CUSHION OF AT LEAST $25K. Here is the break-down:
HOME #1 PAYOFF - $279K, WORTH $425K (currently rented covering payments)
HOME #2 PAYOFF - $245K, WORTH $425K(currently live in but want sell and leave the area in the next year or two)

SELL A HOUSE AND PAY OFF DEBT, LEAVING CASH IN THE BANK OR KEEP GREAT REAL ESTATE INVESTMENTS AND GET A LOAN OF $100K, PAY OFF DEBT LEAVING $28 CASH IN BANK. We just can't wait another year or two to pay off the credit card debt because we are broke each month after paying bills, and need some relief now.

Both homes are in hot markets. Dallas/Ft Worth & White Mountains Arizona.

Any ideas or help are much appreciated!!
