I have trained people on how to get hired. Works every time. First, at the interview.. if they like you as a person they will hire you. Wear a Power Suite... whether it's for a job at McDonalds or a Corporate Position.
Second, SMILE the ENTIRE TIME! Look them in they eye the entire time and call everyone you meet by name (over and over).
Third, Do research on the company and act as though this is the only place on earth you want to work, even if it's not.
Fourth, If they ask you if you can or can't do something like a computer program always say yes and then learn it or... say "I am the fastest learner you've ever met and because I know xyz system I'm know I can learn yours".
Fifth, be as optimistic as you can through the entire interview.. and in the end...
The most important thing you need to do that most interviewees don't do is... interview them as well. Which mean.. as soon as you get into their office compliment the office and talk about their children's pictures or the awards on their wall. Have them do as much talking as possible and don't expect them to even ask one question.
I promise you... If they ask you only 2 questions and you walk away from the interview thinking.. "I got that boss to talk about his job, his likes and all around.. himself A LOT and I hardly said a few words"... YOU HAVE THE JOB!

I'm in the same situation...because employers want to pay 7.00 bucks an hour and keep cost down even if that means some person with no brain in their head. We are too good for the job market these days because we actually have a brain in our head...Ooh heaven forbid...a Brain!!

No one has ever handed out easy, high paying jobs (if those even exist). You may try acquiring a skill that employers are demanding (i.e., do not major in psychology or sociology).

Because this country is running out of jobs due to position occupations of foreigners and the growing population of this country. It is safe to work an entry level position and work your way up from there.

I agree with the people who said illegal immigrants are coming into this country and taking the jobs. Also, some jobs have higher expectations now.

Check in at the local Unemployment Office and see what they may have available in your line of work. Don't forget your resume.

I live in FL and they give people SIGN-ON bonuses for McD's and Burger King ($500-$1000). They are asking for workers of all types...

I don't know where you're looking, or how you LOOK when you're looking, but you obviously are doing something wrong.
