If you're having a tough time with impulse purchases, set aside some amount of money each week or month that you can spend on your impulse items. If you stop buying altogether, you'll probably have a hard time sticking to it.

Put together a budget for the necessary items, alot money for savings. Then figure out how much you can afford to spend on shopping. Try to see your savings as something attractive that you like reviewing. If you're getting a thrill from ebay, maybe you'd also enjoy investing and trying to figure out the best strategies for income growth and security.

Get a job - something you enjoy. Sell some of the things you don't really need on eBay. Work extra hours including the weekend. Make sure you discipline yourself to put savings away every pay period and only spend what you need. Easier said than done, but I think you are now aware of the importance of "bare necessities" Sometimes, it takes getting into the hole you are now in to be able to set up a budget and work within those guidelines. I'm there, its hard, but you can do it!! Good Luck!

Stop buying what you want, and only what you need: housing, food, clothes, medical care. You do not need name brand stuff. Talk to your creditors to lower your payments. Good luck!
