Statutes of limitations vary from state to state. However, 'misleading' is not necessarily grounds for a successful lawsuit. You will need something very specific and concrete in order to win such a lawsuit.
Check with a qualified attorney for a consultation.

Every state is different. However, they are smart and if you signed any type of contract with them there will be a section stating that you were not misinformed (or something along those lines) so you cannot sue after the fact. Contact your local state representative who will be able to direct you the right bureau that can handle your situation for free and let you know if you have a leg to stand on.
