My Dad invested in a fund called "Planning for College". He saved about $4000 for my college education. Later we were sent a letter saying the investors were being investigated (?). The fund stopped withdrawing from his account. We were encouraged to send letters to congress to have the matter settled quickly. We never received the money back and were never able to get in touch with those in charge of the fund.

My husband had me down as CEO of our Printing business.
I am in the middle of divorce. I discovered that the accountant used my mothers ss# under my name on tax records for corporation. When I asked the accountant about this, he told me that it was just a clerical error. He did do my mothers personal taxes, but I don't believe that an accountant could make that kind of error. You would think that the software they use would red flag such an error. I feel he is covering for himself and my soon to be ex-husband. Can this be possible?

I am a new landlord, and unfortunately live 3000 miles from the house I am renting.

My renters have been late everymonth since I have rented to them. At first it was only a few days, then a week or two, then almost a month. I could handle a few days or weeks, but they fall further and further behind each month. I told them (in writing) if they fell more than 30 days late, then we would have no choice but to evict them.

Anyway, I am now wondering if there is anywhere (online) I can go to find legal info about evicting a tenant. I would prefer not to hire an antorney since the are so expensive.

I've already redone my resume, highlighting the skills and responsibilities that I currently have, which coincide w/ that of an Event Planner; but I haven't gotten any results as yet. I invested a lot of money into my Masters in Social Work, so I really don't want to have to get a second Masters. But I'm not fulfilled in my current job. It doesn't allow me to use all of the skills that I possess, and I'm unhappy and unfulfilled. Any suggestions?

I found an awnser to this question but it is 10 months old, so the information to the question is outdated.

If say, for example you made money on music lessons for 15$ per lesson and you have 10-20 clients depending on the month. And each client has once a week lessons.

Let's see for example, you make $1000-1500/month. Would you pay Income Taxes? Or would you just file paperwork for the IRS to pay Social Security?

I can research this question on the official internal revenue service but it might take a few hours before I find my awnser.

But anyway if you can find the awnser before I do it would be nice.

I have been out of the workforce for several years while raising a family. I'm finally looking to go back to work, and I am hopeful that I will get an interview with the most recent place that I applied. It is a social service agency serving developmentally disabled adults. This is right up my alley - while I didn't get a degree in social work, I was a senior when I dropped out of school. I have experience working in another social service agency, as well.

If you have any good tips at all about interviewing, I would greatly appreciate hearing them!

Thanks.

I've heard that by using Western Union, wire transfers of money, guarantee payment to the seller, if you're trying to make a purchase, but you can really get srewed over if it comes to you receiving your merchandise, as they don't really have any disputes, or a process to guarantee shipment.

Is this true and therefore makes using western union as a form of payment instead of paypal/credit cards, a bit unsafe?

Thanks.

Hello yes i see there are numerous posts on this but maybe mine is slightly different? i have paid 145.49 on my first pay slip.. 50.32 of that being national insurance, and the overall wage is 557.75 for a week, i looked on some other topics and it says tax is 22% but this is 26%.

This is my first job and i have seen i should get my first 5220 tax free also, but i understand that it can even out over the taxc year.

why would i be paying more than normal on my tax when i should be paying half basically?

i earn 10k a year but i did a lot of overtime to get this up though.

My tax code is 522l w1.

any help?

Thanks
