Retail hires on the spot sometimes. So do restaurants for wait staff. Wait staff can make good money, especially if you live someplace which gets tourists and has a need for summer help.

my fiance worked for a construction business, tree cutting service, and plumbing..they were the best paying jobs in our area that he has ever had...and trust me here thats rare!!they pay good but it's hard work and exhausting....good luck!!
