We found a steal of a house and the equity of the new house is much more than the equity of our house. This may be a silly question, but our mortgage now has a great interest rate and I don't want to lose that. We have about 100,000 equity in our currently house and if we bought this new house we would have about 200,000 equity. We would with the money we would get from selling our house (god willing) we would be able to use roughly 120,000 towards this new house. The banks would be winning on this deal considering if I foreclosed (not that I ever have plans to do so) they would double the money I owe them by selling the house.

I see a 2 acre piece of property for sale on yahoo real estate that looks reasonably priced and is ready for utilities. I'm just wondering if this is a good investment to make now for my future. I know that property/real estate is usually a safe investment....Any opinions on this are welcome.

I asked this question a while back and didn't get any answers. Discover has been issuing DEBIT cards since 2006, and they have a full website (http://debit.discovernetwork.com) devoted to this product, which seems to have some great consumer benefits, but the thing is I can't find a bank/credit union that issue's them...Does anyone know of one?

My mother in law and her husband want to buy their first house in maryland. My problem is they want my husband to co-sign for the loan because of her credit. They say my husband has better credit that way they would have 2 loans at 6.375 and another at 6.50 instead of 6.375 and 11.00 . Now they also say in a few months my husband can take his name off the mortgage. That is what I would like to know. After 3 or 4 months can he take his name off the mortgage or do it have to be on for the remainder of the loan?

The Milwaukee post office sent me a piece of a check and a piece of the envelope back and said it got damaged in handling but they didn't say what happened to the rest of it. It was the upper left hand corner containg my name and drivers license number, and that was the only information on the check. The bank wants $30.00 to cancel payment , which is of course, obsene. Who else has had this happen and how did it turn out.
