The government is asking Pastor Melissa Scott to contribute her fair share but she says she's a church but doesn't believe in giving anything to charity or the poor.

US tax law requires ministers to pay tax on PERSONAL earnings from ANY source. The only taxes they are exempt from are social security taxes. Those would not apply to earnings from a bank account anyway. If she thinks paying taxes is the same as giving charity to the poor, I suggest she take a look at the government's budget.

If the money is in her church account than that's one thing. If she has access to that money for herself or it is in her name she should pay taxes on it like everyone else. This link has some good info. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Offshore_bank
