house that my Sister will not be living in for 6 months she has offered to us at alot less than we currently renting for and this is a house. The area is considered a bad area to live with some gang activity around. I currently rent here in California for 2500 a month she offering 1500.00 . She also asked me to watch over the place while she is gone ( this house has been her investment for 20 years payment is cheap. Any suggestions for me?

yes I would take the opp but be sure and look around the neighbor hood at night before you move there . yOu know you dont want to move in and then discover you have gang activity right outside your door . also if you do decide to move I would purchase or aquire a couple of good size dogs . that is usually a deterrent for most ppl from breaking in to a house . good luck .

Also, what happens after the 6 months are up?
Where do you go to then?
You would have to find another place to live.
Seems like alot of problems to me, I'd stay put. Even with the cheaper rent which is tempting it's not worth it.

Stay away from it, even your sister does not want to live there, if the neighborhood is bad, you will regret moving there big time.

rent it and sublet for 2000.
pocket 500 toward your own mortgage.
