Will they have to pay taxes on it? How would I report it on my income tax? This is all new to me but they are of an age I can now do it for them. From what I understand they won't but how do I account for it?

I work in Missouri as a waitress for the standard $2.13 an hour. Tuesday the minimum wage was increased from $5.15 to $6.50. I was wondering if my employer has to raise my wages. How do they come up with 2.13? is it a percentage of what min. wage is? she is trying to say that she doesnt have to raise our hourly wages and that the min. wage increase doesnt apply to the waitresses. i have searched all over the net and i guess i am not looking for the right thing because i cant find any law about missouri and waitresses or hourly wages and what they should be. any input would be greatly appreciated. thank you all!

Hi guys!

I am scheduled to come in for a second interview with a really great custom screen print, logo and embroidery company. On the first interview I wore khakis, a sweater and a jean jacket. The lady I interviewed with said that the company is really laid back and wears jeans and t-shirts. Would it be ok if for my second interview I wore a nice pair of jeans, high heeled boots, a sweater and a khaki jacket? I didn't know if that would be acceptable or not. Thanks for your help!! :)

I see nothing good for the American economy in the next few years for average working people. Sure, bonuses on Wall Street are in the hundreds of thousands of dollars for stockbrokers, and some CEO's are still pulling down tens and sometime hundreds of millions of dollars in compensation, and yet the minimum wage hasn't been raised in over 9 years of Republican rule. Add outsourcing of jobs, the loss of 60% of the U.S. manufacturing base, and competition from illegal aliens, and you have an impossible situation.

Part of my job is to make calls to calls to department managers of Wal-Mart stores. As their vendor, I'm trying to obtain their feedback in regards to our product, inventory, problems, etc. However, the majority of my calls lack any real feedback. I have changed my approach in several different ways, and only a small percentage of the people I interact with will talk to me.

What amazes me is that the supposed managers I'm talking to do not exhibit the traits that come from a position. As a manager, it is up to him or her to put their best foot forward and set the example that the department should following. However, when a vendor is going straight to the person they can count on for information and all I get back are answers that are not very helpful, I'm starting to wonder if it's me or them.

Is there anything I can say or do that can help make future calls not a waste of everyone's time?

I have an interview for a new job tomorrow and I just noticed I can't find my social security card. Does anyone know how long it takes to get a new one? Do you need one to get hired for a job or can you just show a birth certificate and drivers license or can they give you a temporary card untill your new one gets in? Anything will help thank-you! Dont know if it matters by state, but I live in ILLINOIS.

I got a much better offer with benefits, from a Fortune 500 company, and I'm ready to go! But theyre probably going to have a hard time finding someone to replace me. I thought I could work for them on a project-basis or part time in the evening. I don't want to burn any bridges, but they are probably going to be disappointed. How should I write my 2 week notice, what should it say, how should i deliver it etc?
