How to make money in stocks in good times and bad by William O'Neill is an excellent primer

Mastering the Trade by John Carter is a flat out excellent book to teach you about discipline and strategies, etc.

Trading in the Zone by Mark Douglas is another great mental book, very necessary for success

Trading for a Living by Alexander Elder

"The Little Book that Beats the Market" by Joel Greenblatt, is the best investing book I have read in a while. It is short but packed with great information. The idea is to buy stocks with a low PE and high return on capital. www.magicformulainvesting.com lists out stocks that meet this criteria.
