There are a hundred cents in a dollar. So, put the amount of cents over one-hundred into a fraction form.

For example, if you have 10cents
10/100 = 10%

I think that's what your asking

Can you multiply by 1 ? Can you multiply by 2 ? For example, what is 48 x 1 ? What is 80 x 2 ? If you can do these problems, it is very easy to calculate percentages. A dinner bill is $ 48.00 & you want to leave a 10 % tip. 48.00 x1= 48.00 Now all you have to do is move the decimal point one place to the left. 10% of 48= 4.80.
A store is offering a 20% discount on an item that costs $80.00. 80.00 x 2 = 160 Move the decimal one place to the left. 20% of 80 = 16 You will save $ 16.00 & pay $64.00 What if the service was very good & you want to pay a 15% tip. Can you divide by 2 ? 4.80 / 2 = 2.40 You have just calculated 5% ( 10% / 2 = 5% ) of $48.00 Now add the 4.80 (the 10%) to the 2.40 (the 5%) = $ 7.20 15% of $ 48.00 = $ 7.20
I hope this helps you. DON'T be afraid of percentages.
