After a car sales lien, the funds raised from selling the car, does it go to my finance company or does it go somewhere else? So if i owed $20,000 to the finance company, but the car sales lien raises $18,000, would i still be responsible to my finance company for the whole $20k or 2k?

I have been burned twice by this woman, she has left the same job twice in the past 5 yrs. both times befor she leaves, she makes sure she drags me into the managers office with a list of complaints that stand without merit, we just let her spout off and be on her merry way,it's easier. This time the manager didnt give her any satisfaction and she complained to the state, the state dismissed her complaint, what I would like to know is how do you turn the other cheek, on someone you would like to throttle?

I currently own a townhouse in the Los Angeles area and need to relocate to another city due to a job. Since home prices are going down, I thought it would make sense to rent my property rather than sell it and not get my money's worth. I hired a property manager and she is supposed to be finding me a tenant. She asked me if I was interested in leasing with an option to buy and I told her I would think about it. Now she is suggesting that I sell because prices are only going to continue to go down and I will only make $200/month profit by renting when I could get $150,000 profit by selling and then reinvesting in more rental property. I'm confused.

I have a new 3-story townhouse. It is my primary residence and it was flooded with 2 feet of water back in Feb due to heavy rains. 11 other units in my neighborhood also looded. I went the cheapest route I could to repair everything and it cost me approx $4000 but it still isn't 100% of what it was originally. Maybe 95%. Anyway, I saw in an IRS publication that I can not deduct just my repair costs. I have to have had an appraisal and then take the difference in fair market value as the deduction? I had my home owners insurance do an appraisal of the damages but they did no pay anything to me since I did not have flood insurance. What is the right way to deduct my losses?

Ok basically I just became the new office manager and I have never done payroll in my life. Now my boss wants on the pay stubs for the actual Federal, Social Secuity and Medicare tax percentage to show. (We have no state tax since we are in Florida) I know that the Medicate tax is 1.45% rate but what it the S.S and Federal % rate?

Take the following paystub example which is how they are printed now

Gross Earnings is 885.88
Soc. Sec. 54.92
Medicare 12.85
Fed 20.90
Check amount 797.21

but now the boss wants it this way

Gross pay 885.88
?.??% for Soc. Sec equals 54.92
1.45 % for Medicare equals 12.85
?.??% for Federal equals 20.90
Check Amount 797.21

Can you help me fill in the missing percantages? and also how can i incorporate all this information in an excell sheet so it can calculate it atomatically by just inputting the gross pay?
