I work in a law firm with 3 lawyers. the one i work for directly, just had a baby and wont be back until january. im the only one in the office that can work on her cases, so i feel bad leaving that kind of burden on the office, should i happen to quit. however, they dont pay me good enough to live off of, and i just moved a half hour away, and im afraid the effort just to get to work in the winter will not be worth the weekly pay. i havent gotten a raise in over a year, and they ask for more work than they pay you for. oh, and no overtime, even if you work it. they are an excellent reference and i dont wish to burn that bridge. but i dont want to stay here out of guilt when the pay and everything else just isnt worth it. please help with serious advice only please.

I would like to start a business from home. Not ebay, no scams, and no dog-caring. What would you recommend?

I'm really smart, so I won't fall for scams here, alright? I'm just trying to see what I could possibly come up with. It'd be fun to start a business. And I'm very committed.

A woman who is really serious about living her dream out after doing the right thing by raising her kids as a single mother and tired of the bull of a bull job that doesn't fit her. Who has been told by several people that she has the potiential of being sucessful but her fiancial status limits her but her freedom allows her to be available. Legit agencies that will seriously take a look at what she has to offer. Where does she look and if she can trust the source.

OK...I am a nervous wreck about a job. I have successfully gotten through the phone interview...they flew me out to interview with them(6 hours long!). They told me they would be in touch. The next day a background check place called for some information. Then the following Monday the HR department called and asked for copies of my paycheck stubs. That was two weeks ago and I havnt heard anything. I called Wends and HR said they were still 'very very interested" and that my background check came back fine but they were looking at some internal candidates. That to me seem wierd because the job had been posted for nearly 2 months before I applied for it. My friend who works their said the hiring manager was out last week as well. Am I going to get this job? Any and all opinions are welcome.

One of my co-workers is getting on my last nerve. We have not got along in a year. I have been @ my job for 6 years. Recently she is sending e-mails to our manager containing false statements about me and involving him in issues he should not be bothered with. I have not replied. She throws paperwork on my desk, and makes comments that I have no consideration for others. ( I want this to stop. I want to wipe that grin off her face without getting fired any suggestions. The manager does not want to be involved. I don't blame him.

I have an extremely boring job and I have an interview on friday with a new company which I really want to work for. The job I have an interview with is closer to my college major, when the job I work at now has nothing to do with my major (psychology). You can also get promotions at the new place, unlike my job now where I was told by someone who has worked here for 30 years that this is the position I will stay if I work here forever. I like my boss, she's nice, but when it comes to everyone else, I could care less if I let them down. If I get this job, how is it possible for me to break the news to my boss and not feel guilty of letting her down? What's the best thing to say (I'm going for short but sweet)?

Suppose you have to be making atleast $1600/month in order to get that apartment. If you tell them you have a roommate, will they combine how much both y'all make to be atleast $1600 & let you get the apartment, if making $1600/month was the only factor.

I have recently graduated with a degree in Music Technology, and I am having trouble finding work. I am applying for every job that I can find at the moment and sadly do not hear from any of them. My problem is that I can't really afford to take time off my current job (in a call centre) to do unpaid work.

I understand that it is a difficult industry to get into, but why does no one seem interested in Graduates? I am desperate to get into a job where I feel like I am working towards something that I am interested in.

Ok, I had an interview with a really good job on last Thursday as a Recruiter for a Healthcare firm, and I have 2 interviews today with companies that I have not really heard much of (one company just opened this year), and I got an email from a Regional Manager yesterday saying he was really impressed with my resume & wanted to get with me in a couple of days to set an interview time (this is the one I want, you get a company car, your own schedule, bonus, full benefits, full paid training, etc.) But the other companies that I'm interviewing with today don't say anything about benefits or compensation. What should I do and what should I say? Should I hold out for the Regional Manager's call? Oh God what to do?
