I think people often underestimate the earning potential for older models, or catalog models. There will always be a need for models of all ages for a variety of products. Same can be said for television, where there are a myriad of supporting roles which do not involve a person having to be 19 (or look it).

As long as you are realistic, and pursue castings that are age appropriate, you'll be fine.

Many legitimate agencies have older model divisions (just as they have plus model divisions), and you'll be able to find work through these streams. Finding help is as simple as contacting an agency, and doing some footwork to locate the best representation for your age group.

Just remember, there's no reason to spend exhorbitant amounts of money to 'make it', and there are legitimate photographers, managers, and agents who believe in you enough to either front you the money, or find free to reasonable cost resources to help you along. If you cannot find such assistance, or you find that nobody is willing to make adjustments in their fees for your circumstances, try to solicit the services of amateurs such as college students, or early career professionals to build your portfolio.

Most people think "I'm too old,.. it's imposible" but what happens is everyone does that and the women who started younger have retired or have devotion to certain organizations or projects,... so some times this is actually in High Demand,.. especially if you can play a range of ages and have a little experience with things like being a mom and haveing deaths in the family,.. pet6s,.. mental illness in the family,.. observed differences of different ages and types of people,.... etc.

So I'd say GO FOR IT,... but be warey.... alot of agencies and agents are fake or have short life spans (for the business/organization,.. not the Agent,... but the agent quits or moves on).

A woman over 35 can certainly become successful. However, the chance of doing it as an actress is practically zero, and the chance of doing it as a model is zero.

Look through the IMDB and you will find many actresses who were famous before age 35 who hardly work now. Who can you name that became famous after 35? Kathy Bates is about the only one I can think of who became successful after that age. But even she had appeared in over 25 movies and TV shows before she made it.
