Suppose you have to be making atleast $1600/month in order to get that apartment. If you tell them you have a roommate, will they combine how much both y'all make to be atleast $1600 & let you get the apartment, if making $1600/month was the only factor.

Im a landloard and my opinion they probably will......but saying y'all will turn them off from you both ( it makes you seem uneducated and low class)......it's blunt but the truth. Most places don't actually do a credit check their mind is made up after the first meeting and the application only something to give them an easy way out so they don't get sued for racism or agism or something. When you go check out an apartment wear nice clothes and be confident and friendly ....Don't use slang they will think your trouble

Usually in a lease where two people sign, it is the case. However, you need to check to see if they allow a roommate. Sometimes they will only allow family members.

There is no way to answer that question. It depends on the policy of the apartment management. Their policy-their apartment-their call.

If they want to. But they also have to approve of both's credit and rental history.
