This means that you are management. Not Dictator. Ruler from hell. I have had some great supervisors and not so great. If you want to be great and remember as a mentor then you should set the mark and stay true to what got you to your position. Act like it is your goal to train or get everyone below you a chance to achieve your new job. The good ones will try harder the not so good will show you the same as before. You don't have to be their friend but you can be friendly. They may even be your boss one day because of you. I would accept that as an honor.

A supervisor can have a lot of important attributes, but the one requirement is "Common since".
