Tattoos - August 2007

Okay so I was thinking about what I REALLY wanna do a career and a hobbie and I thought about being a tattoo artist. I thought that I would be perfect for the job. I watch LA Ink and Miami ink all the time so that kinda gives me insight on the whole scene and I have that kick *** attitude and the most important thing in my opinion... being a good artist. Do you think I'm cut out for it? If ur already a tattoo artist what do you think about my ambitions?

I heard that the process is the same but the ink will disolve into your skin and i was trying to look into this but i can not seem to find anything about this. Anything you know will be helpful.

Give me details . I've got tough skin ; my two piercings ( eye brow +' monroe ) didn't hurt at all. But I don't know if I can take a tattoo. How painful is it ? what exactly does it feel like ? and how long does an tattoo take ?

I want the ankh tattoo in this picture. and i really really like it. I want it so bad. And I want it on my wrist too. I feel really unoriginal cuz I want that EXACT one on my wrist and its Bam Margera's wife Missy..

But its like the only tattoo that looks like what I want.

I want a new tattoo.
I won't bore you all with the details, but I've been through nothing short of hell the past 2 years, and I genuinely mean that..... but I feel as though I'm finally coming out the other side of it.
I'm looking for an idea for a new tattoo I'd like to get to represent surviving all of this and rising above everything, the strength I've needed to just make it to the next day....
If someone would like to actually draw me some original designs I'd be eternally grateful, but otherwise, just some ideas of symbols or animals etc that represent strength, survival, courage, determination etc.....

AND Just to let you know, I'm perfectly capable of utilizing Google to do a search on this, and I have done, so please, for goodness sake don't suggest that. Please also do not direct me to an obvious website like deviantart etc..... I'm uncreative, but not stupid.

I got a tattoo yesterday and i have a scab over the top which is normal. But in areas of my tattoo the ink doesnt look so dark as it does in other areas. Its not noticeable unless u look reall close maby im just obsessing lol but can a tatoo artists go over the tattoo ??

I got my first tattoo down five days ago on my left ribcage. It's an all black tattoo about an inch around bigger than a cd.

The outline turned out great but the inside -well not so much. The inside was suppose to be shaded completely black but it seems like it wasn't shaded very well. There are some parts darker than the other and the overall brightness of the black just isn't very bright. I am not very satisfied with the shading.

I am about to go back to my tattoo artist today and let him know. What do you think he will say and do for me?

I would like to get it re-shaded (ouch - I know) but I don't want to pay for something twice if you know what I mean.

What should I say to the guy?

Don't get me wrong - I love my tattoo.. I just want it to look the best it can.. the way it is suppose to look.

Ive never gotten a tattoo and im very scared of the pain. I like to look at the tattoo questions. I like to see other's ideas and opinions. But, I am irritated with the amount of questions that strangers can not answer, such as "what can I get that is personalized to me?" or "how much will this cost?" or "does this placement hurt?" Personilization is just that, personal. Sure people can give you opinions, but only you can pick the right tattoo for you. As for cost, only your artist can tell you the exact price. And then, my favorite, pain. Everyone's pain tollerance is different. No one can tell you exactly how much a tattoo will hurt. It hurts a lot for some people and others can even find it pleasurable or say it tickles. I need to ignore these questions. Even in my personal life, when people ask me these questions, I say ask your artist!! Please, ask your artist!! Ok, I'm done venting. Anyone else sick of these questions? There are so many of them.

I have been getting curious about the idea of tattoos as I develop my art talents with paintings and after watching Miami Ink.
Also, because I want to add some edge to myself (tired of being viewed almost as little girlish (I'm 34).
Also, any of you Ontario teachers? Please only comments from tattoo artists and those with tattoos.
I am thinking of something subtle, light coloured and non toxic.
