I want a new tattoo.
I won't bore you all with the details, but I've been through nothing short of hell the past 2 years, and I genuinely mean that..... but I feel as though I'm finally coming out the other side of it.
I'm looking for an idea for a new tattoo I'd like to get to represent surviving all of this and rising above everything, the strength I've needed to just make it to the next day....
If someone would like to actually draw me some original designs I'd be eternally grateful, but otherwise, just some ideas of symbols or animals etc that represent strength, survival, courage, determination etc.....

AND Just to let you know, I'm perfectly capable of utilizing Google to do a search on this, and I have done, so please, for goodness sake don't suggest that. Please also do not direct me to an obvious website like deviantart etc..... I'm uncreative, but not stupid.
Thank you.

do you have any words that mean something to you? I have always appreciated word art. If you prefer a nationality or language, look for the word/s in that lang.

some animal ideas to start with. this is a sampling only, i encourage you to take this idea and keep looking. i did not find the totem/s i have on my body until i saw them for myself.

boars (celtic mythology) for courage, alligator (native american) for survival, bumblebee (native american) for drive, frog (native american) for cleansing, otter (native american) balance of female energy, snake (chinese astrology) for enduring, deer (celtic mythology) renewal... the list could go on.

personally, perhaps because i am from alaska, I prefer eskimo/inuit totem art. They are stylistic art representing animals and nature symbls like the sun and moon. each symbol has and tells a story, and are very graphic and beautiful. i also, when on a similar tattoo journey for my first tattoo, during a period of great change and renewal of my life, chose to tattoo a self-drawn gecko with art similar to my fiber art as its skin. in native american mythology the gecko is the symbol of the dream world. which to me is a vision of the future i am creating for me.

good luck

Tattoo Ideas About Strength

2016-11-06 22:07:43 · answer #2 · answered by ? 4 · 0 0

simple answer? nope... i have been trying to figure out exactly how i want my first tatoo too.. but a good friend of mine took my idea and went with it.. so here is what i suggest..
first make a list, like one you said above...
then answer question to yourself, what was lowest point in my life, and then the peak..and then what do you think about then?
is there some person or persons? do you believe in spiritual things? or maybe even a flower?
chinese symbols are okay..but noone understands them...
its hard, but you can doodle, we all can...so while you answer the questions, doodle...flowers? animals? a person that helped you along initials?
you have children? a fave pet?even a car....just remember the bigger it is the longer it takes.. :)
there are so many things that can factor into the art..so take your time, even go to a good artist and they can help you..a tattoo will be with you always.. so i suggest it comes from the heart.. my best to you and good luck
