I need help finding GOOD monologues. My professor seems pretty interested in keeping roles designated with race... which has ended up with her suggesting that I take something thats either an old slave sounding monologue, or stuff that's just stereotypical and possibly trash...

What have u all found helpful?

It's a very heart felt act. And its called " why i want to be an actor" so it's very cutish. So how would i bring it into my position? Thankyou.

What is Macbeth trying to say?

O me!
What eyes hath love put in my head
Which have no correspondence with true sight
Or if they have where is my judgement fled
That censures falsely what they see aright?

All movies and plays are obviously artificial, yet people are fascinated and entertained by them. Why doesn't the obvious artifice turn us off? Why do people sit, nearly motionless, for hours watching a screen or a stage?

I am very interested in pursuing a career in voice acting. I'm looking for insight on how to become a voice actor for either animated TV shows or video games. I live in Southern Jersey and am 15 minutes outside of Philadelphia if that helps for anything.

I'm fascinated with Hugh Laurie from the show 'House', who is a Brit but speaks in an utterly convincing American accent. I've always been interested in linguistics and accents, so I was wondering if it's possible for an American to accomplish the same feat with the British accent, and not only do a passable job but an excellent and completely convincing one. Anyone know of any actors/actresses who have done this?
