Hey, race isn't and shouldn't be an issue. It's sad that race is still considered to be a casting issue. Your acting ability and your passion for the art is what's most important.
But if you're asking if you could succeed as an actor in Broadway or Hollywood, the answer is definitely. You just get yourself a good agent who will represent you and fight for you.
It's harder to get roles in Hollywood because most roles are geared towards caucasian actors. You know the type: blond, blue-eyes, statuesque....
But there are good roles there that will fit any type or race of actors.
On the other hand, (in my opinion), it's more lenient on Broadway. I've seen lots of Asian actors portray caucasian roles. Of course, you shouldn't get your hopes up if you auditioned for a play in which race is a factor in the plot (Dreamgirls, Raisin in the Sun, Showboat, The Color Purple, etc.)
For example, Lea Salonga (purely Asian, and she's very petite) played the role of Eponine (Les Miz) in Broadway, she's returning to Broadway on March 6 to play the role of Fantine in Les Miserables. Joanna Ampil (also purely Asian) played Mimi in Rent, Evita Peron in Evita, Eponine in Les Miz, etc.
Professional theatre, television and film have long since proven that skin color and ethnic origin have nothing to do with an actor's ability.
Even if you didn't get a plum role, don't give up, there's always something better out there. At the end of the day, you still get to do something you love, right?

I think that anybody can be a good actor if they try hard and find a good role. If anybody tells you that you shouldn't persue your dream, just ignore them and keep trying.
Expect denials though, simply because not everyone thinks the same.
Keep your head up!!!
