Does anyone have some suggestions for temp agencies in Manhattan, that are actor friendly? At least agencies that have decent jobs, not handing out flyers or loading trucks..That is ones that handle articulate, college educated personnel.

The lead actor wears a wig in this performance and says he lost his hair 'Hitting the headboard, know what I mean, girls?' Do I drop a stage weight on him or open the trapdoor?

I saw King Lear at the Goodman Theater today and 3 actors were completley naked for part of the performance. King Lear (Stacey Keach), Edgar (Joaquin Torres), and Cordelia (Laura Odeh) were all naked at some point. Not for very long, maybe 5 minutes for Edgar and Cordelia and just 30 seconds for King Lear. It didn't bother me, just thought that is wasn't done or allowed.

AAAAAAAH! I don't know what to pick....cause two of my friends and I are gonna do "You Gotta Get a Gimmick" from Gypsy...and then I might do a scene from Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolfe with this dude...And I wanna try out for this Quintet that our teacher wants us to do......ANYWAYS!

Well, I'm not sure if I should do another song from Gypsy...like Roses Turn...or if I should do Don't Rain on My Parade from Funny Girl...Or something from Dream Girls...

I just don't wanna do something that I know a lot of people are gonna do...you know?...Like last year...a lot of people did Rent...becuase the movie was coming out...and a lot of people do Chicago and stuff...Does anyone have any suggestions?

Last year I had to do an onstage kiss. It really wasn't too big of a deal...just a kiss at the end of the play (although on the last night my leading man stuck his tongue in my mouth...p.s. he's a smoker). Now I have the lead in a play ("It's a Wonderful Life," adapted from Capra's classic film). If you've seen the film, you know that the kissing is frequent and there are a couple of really passionate, intense, dramatic kissing scenes (e.g. the telephone scene). I even think the play added a couple of kisses in the stage directions. Can anyone give me any advice on how to perform this CONVINCINGLY. I'm not worried about "Oh no! I have to kiss a boy onstage!" This time it's more how do I do it convincingly, especially with so many intense scenes?

My daughter wants to get into acting and commercials and needs a site for monologues that she can perform and that are age and gender appropriate.
She is well spoken, can get into any character, and "sassy" suits her the best.

I am trying to figure out the copyright law here if I am doing a western comedy melodrama - can I use cowboy and western/country songs that are 60 years old word for word, or do I need to change the lyrics in true parody form?
