I don't really know what you mean by demo tape. Unless you are "auditioning" for a reality TV show, there are not many times you would need to spend thousands of dollars to record you "acting." The best you can do, is send resume and headshots around. If people want to see you act, they will have you audition in person.

Think of a job interview. How many people get hired after sending a tape of them working to someone? You are judged on your personality and ability to work well with a director far more than you are on how good a tape of you "acting."

particular, what you observed is a real demo reel - a sequence of short clips of an actors previous artwork. in case you have not have been given any previous artwork, than you have not have been given a demo reel. common. do not make a selfmade. If a production corporation is soliciting for demo reels they're awaiting what you observed in the pattern, in case you have not have been on condition that than do not waste their (or your) time via submitting.

"Southern New England" is, like, a minute away from NYC? If you can't make it there, you can't make it anywhere. The video, that is.

Try your local tv station.
Try the local guys who make tv commericals.
Try the local college video program.
