I read some online short stories by a male author a few years ago, but the website has disappeared since then.

The first was a twist on the Santa Claus myth, in which St. Nick is portrayed as a vampiric figure. The main character and his companion try to hunt Santa Claus and stake him; the companion is bitten, though, and begins to grow a beard, get fat, etc. and the main character is forced to kill him.

I think the other one was called "Patches" or "Stitches" or something like that, and it was about a hospital patient who kept losing body parts, until he was eventually just a head.

And the final story depicted an imaginary, childish dream world made of candy and gumdrops, and cloying things like that. This world was slowly fusing with the real world, and eventually became bombed with real nuclear bombs.

The same person wrote all three stories (I think), so if anyone knows who he is, or where to find the stories, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Im looking to publish a fiction novel in a specific genre. I have already written the manuscript, I just want to know how I can complete my first step to publishing with a reputable agent that will find publishers interested in my genre of fiction. Any ideas? I googled, but it just seems unhelpful. Any ideas/ranges/ball park figures on costs?

sleeping on the tounge of the beast

my legs gone
my lungs slowly being crushed
I sleep waiting for death
on the tounge of the beast

eyes black as coal
its belly white as snow
I sleep waiting for death
on the tounge of the beast

a dead seagull rests near my shoulder
a hook pierces my eye
I sleep waiting for death
of the tounge of the beast

water in water out
I slide deeper into darkness
I sleep waiting for death
on the tounge of the beast

my air now gone
my time has come
as I slip from its tounge
into the darkess
I now sleep forever
In the great white beast

Can anyone please write me an example of a sonnet? Please something you wrote yourself because I've had enough of Shakespeare! LOL
You can also just write me an idea of what i can write my sonnet about. . .

it should have 3 quatrains (each quatrain has 4 lines)

In each quatrain, lines 1 + 3 rhyme with one ending word, and
lines 2 + 4 rhyme with a different ending word. (ababcdcdefefgg rhyme schem)

Also, each line has to have 10 syllables. . .

If you can help me. . . that would be GREAT!

^_^ thanks SO MUCH

There's a book that I've been searching for, for a long time. I seem to recall that there is a store that advertises that if you know the plot or the picture on the cover, etc., that they'll search for the book (for a fee) and if they find the book the fee is applied to the cost of the book and if they don't find the book the fee is refunded.
Anyone heard of such a thing?
The book was about a girl who was abducted by a cult. The father began investigating and found that the cult leader was an expert in astral projection. The father then goes to a master who teaches the father all about astral projection.
The father tracks the cult leader and in a very supernatural ending, he does an astral projection battle with the cult leader, where they both inhabit inanimate objects around them and use the inanimate objects to do physical battle. If one can cut the other's 'silver threat' that connects the astral self to the physical body, the physical body that has been cut off will die.

Rite here goes.

Its about somthing to do with poison in a pen. I know there are computers in it. And a scene where the main chracter is talking about a really serious disease with the doctors. Also i think that she has a t.v in her room that is an alarm clock, its futuristic so i think the tv is also her phone.
Also someone tells her to go away from wherever she is thats bad but she takes her car and does the complete opposite.

Please, if you know, or have an inclin, do tell me. Bits of this book keep spinning round my head. And i'm fed up of not knowing the whole story!!!!

I am doing a report and oral presentation for one of my classes and I was wondering if i could get some input. I have done nearly all of the work by now but I am still having trouble deciding where to place characters in each level of inferno. Well known characters are better...such as holdencaufield, Jack and Ralph for LOTF, ..... anything really.

So if you could put any characters from well known works, who are they, where would you put them, and why.

Thanks for any help!

A space ship enters the Earth's atmosphere and just stays there for about 50 years. No contact or anything. Things on Earth change. People stop fighting, etc. because everybody is too focused on the huge space ship up in the sky. I read this years ago and would like to read it again, but I can't remember the name of it or the author. Can you help?

i would list the number but i think that's a violation or something. not really sure. ne wayz my question is when u call the phone numbers (u can actually call them) can u check Carla's messages? (the book says there were two messages.) i tried entering an access code when it said to but it just said "thank you for calling. goodbye." is it even possible to hear the two messages? if u haven't read the book i highly recommend it. it needs a sequel tho. i posted a question similar to this but it got deleted before i could look at the answers.

My brother was just telling me about a book that he saw in Boarders and he cant remember the name of it. Its a picture book. Apparently a woman got permission from a bunch of family members in Harlem to take pictures of their dead family members posed in different positions (not in caskets) with objects and other people...

Has anyone heard or seen this?
