I have a serious case of writer's cone. Not block. Cone. I can't get to the point. Even the start. I've had this idea for almost a year.... sad isn't it? Are there any techniques I can use to over come this blasted writer's cone?

I assume that you mean that whatever you write, you always narrow it down to the same thing. If that is what you mean, I recommend a series of games called writers prompts to expand your mind. One I used to use in Creative Writing classes was to show a famous painting and talk about the phrase "a picture is worth a thousand words" - then try to write a thousand words on that picture. I liked to use Norman Rockwell pics but any will do. Also you need to join a forum like Absolute Write Water Cooler and share stories with other writers. Also you need to learn to write then self edit. C.

you can't get to the point? It sounds like you have writers block... mutated...There's a book called writers block, and its literally a small fat book that has a million different ways to get your muse talking. it should be available in most bookstores. If that doesn't work, go to an art museum and look at the portraits. Write their stories. What were their lives like? what was their personality?
