I don't know about audio books, but this page has many German classics online for free:
http://gutenberg.spiegel.de/
They are all texts where the copyright has run out, so it's perfectly legal. :)

Project Gutenberg is great, but if you have a Kindle and love the automatic delivery, you'll find that Amazon has many free German ebooks as well, both classics and contemporary literature. Especially the latter can be hard to find (if you're not based in Germany) but this post here has some solid instructions:

You'll also find free, legal, downloadable literature of many languages here: (it's a list of sites)
http://www.ipl.org/div/subject/browse/hum60.60.00/
The Online Books Page has a page of sites, too. Click on the link that says "Foreign Language." http://onlinebooks.library.upenn.edu/archives.html#foreign
Project Gutenberg features literature as text or audio-book in any language you can think of, nearly, at http://www.gutenberg.org
Oh, yeah. The sites I listed above are all legal, free, and feature classics.
Good luck with your reading!

There are numerous people who would laugh at the prospect of changing their fates. This is due to the fact that it thinks that no one gets more that what is put in his destiny.
