I started reading Stephen King and Dean Koontz novels when I was 13, I don't think it hurt me at all.

i'm between the outliers who would not like the Stand or 'Salem's Lot (or greater precisely, wasn't blown away; they are ok). I wasn't enthralled by way of Desperation (i do no longer like it while King gets into faith) or the Regulators. once you study "The Mist," did you study merely that tale or all of Skeleton group. in case you probably did no longer study all of Skeleton group, you may desire to. There are some quite good short memories there: The Jaunt, The Raft, The Monkey, Mrs Todd's Shortcut, Nona, Gramma. The Shining is terrifying, has large characters, and has adequate foreshadowing and symbolism to thrill an English instructor. it rather is the only King novel to furnish me nightmares. it rather is totally long (over one thousand pages), in spite of the indisputable fact that it rather is properly worth it. The characters are so large i myself ignored them while i ended the unconventional. i'm no longer exaggerating. The Eyes of the Dragon is rather exciting and exciting to study. it is not frightening and the characters are not as large as different King works, in spite of the indisputable fact that it has an extremely good tale. The narration makes it seem such as you're listening to some previous bard jointly as sitting beside a hearth. Bag of Bones is a touch distinctive as that's written interior the 1st-guy or woman (in comparison to lots of the different King works i've got study), in spite of the indisputable fact that it rather is creepy, has a good secret, has good characters, and has a large emotional ingredient. there is likewise some exciting seems into the international of writing. i stumbled on puppy Sematary greater traumatic than something. I cherished the Colorado youngster, yet many do no longer. do no longer anticipate a neat, handy ending. Firestarter replaced into my first King novel. it rather is incredibly exciting.

Not too scarry and it's an excellent book. King is a great author. I have read the book several times. The new version that came out last year is the best.

Of all Stephen King's work, this one is the least scary. I don't even remember it being gory; it's about vampires and Anne Rice and Poppy Z. Brite are WAY more explicit and gross and disturbing. Especially Poppy.

All of Steven King's books are too scary. He paints such a vivid picture of evil that you won't be able to sleep at night.

scary books are only as good as the reader's imagination, its not like TV where you are visually affected by what you see. with a book you choose to visualise what you want using the words provided for you
give the book a try, if you don't like it, give it up.. it is a mature read but if you think it's up your street no reason not to read it
